ANDY SHAUF ANNOUNCES FIRST-EVER ALL REQUEST LIVESTREAM

WATCH ON TUESDAY, JUNE 30 AT 9 PM ET

NEW ALBUM ‘THE NEON SKYLINE’ INCLUDED IN STEREOGUM + BILLBOARD’S BEST ALBUMS OF 2020 SO FAR

Appearing in his first livestream since the pandemic began, Andy Shauf will play an all-request show from his home in Toronto on Tuesday, June 30 at 9 pm ET. Tune in HERE.

This one-hour performance will help to raise funds for a variety of causes, including his neighborhood's Parkdale Community Food Bank, Nia Centre for the Arts (a Toronto-based not-for-profit arts centre that supports, showcases and promotes an appreciation of arts from across the African Diaspora), and Andy Shauf's band and crew. Fans can make song requests by visiting Andy's Twitter or Instagram (@andyshauf), or through the Facebook event page for this show.

In January, Shauf released his critically acclaimed new album The Neon Skyline. “The Neon Skyline is a concept album that makes you realize they don’t make them like this much anymore,” said NPR’s Fresh Air. It’s densely layered with an abundance of charming moments. His characters are all sympathetic here, people who share countless inside jokes, shots, and life-or-death musings when the night gets hazy. On top of heartbreak, friendship, and the mundane moments of humanity that define his songwriting, Shauf makes music that explores how easy it is to find yourself in familiar patterns and repeat the same mistakes of your past. The songs on The Neon Skyline ultimately take solace in accepting that life goes on and things will be okay.

Praise for Andy Shauf's The Neon Skyline:

“The Neon Skyline unfolds into a wistful, funny and heartbreaking world
of its own.” - Pitchfork

“The closer you pay attention to the breezy facade, the deeper you're drawn into his vignette.” - Stereogum

“A gifted singer-songwriter. More than that, a gifted storyteller.” – NPR Music

“Shauf’s songwriting deeply embeds listeners in the painful oscillations between good times and terrible ones, between vindication and humiliation. The songs on ‘The Neon Skyline’ make us blush, feel shame, or even get angry when he does.” - No Depression

“Shauf has a natural ear for all of the vintage sounds that give his music an ‘out of time’ quality — a dry drum snap, a lightly jangling guitar, a probing bassline, a warm horn section that sounds beamed in from an ancient AM radio station.” - UPROXX
