January 27th, 2020 (Los Angeles, CA) – Due to popular demand, THE FLAMING LIPS have confirmed two additional shows to their Spring tour performing all of The Soft Bulletin in its entirety backed by full orchestras and vocal choirs in Portland, Oregon on April 13th and in Dallas, Texas as part of the Dallas Symphony’s SOLUNA Festival on April 19th. Tickets for both shows go on sale to the public January 30th, at 10:00am local time. Click HERE for details.

These very special shows honor the 20th anniversary of The Lips groundbreaking 1999 masterpiece, The Soft Bulletin. Two decades since its original release and the deep-seated affect and influence of this seminal work continues to resonate just as brightly.

“This is one of those albums people are going to obsess over for many years to come.” – Pitchfork

“Once you’ve labored in cult obscurity, fielded rumors that John Tesh wanted to cover one of your songs, appeared on Beverly Hills 90210, composed an orchestra for forty automobile tape decks and enjoyed a Top Forty blip, what do you do for a follow-up? The eccentric Oklahoma outfit The Flaming Lips serenely release another winning neo-psychedelic recording. Densely textured but melodic…No one else has posited a parallel universe in which the Sixties and the Nineties exist simultaneously.” – Rolling Stone

As previously announced, The Soft Bulletin Recorded Live At Red Rocks With The Colorado Symphony Orchestra was recorded May 26th, 2016, at the prestigious Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado. The Lips (Wayne Coyne, Steven Drozd, Michael Ivins, Derek Brown, Jake Ingalls, Matt Kirksey and Nicholas Ley) performed their universally acclaimed 1999 Warner Records album The Soft Bulletin in its entirety accompanied by a 69-piece orchestra and 56-strong chorus and was conducted by the internationally celebrated conductor Andre de Ridder Click HERE to purchase.

Diet Cig are back! Today the critically-acclaimed duo of Alex Luciano (guitar and vocals) and Noah Bowman (drums) return with a new song “Night Terrors” - their first bit of music since 2017 when they released their debut album Swear I’m Good At This. Of “Night Terrors” Alex notes, “This song centers around my very real and frequent experiences with night terrors and other bizarre sleep activity. If we’re close enough to have ever shared a room, you know what I’m talking about. This song goes out to you.
The idea of night terrors also represents the fact that no matter how hard I try to curate a specific and perfect version of myself, the embarrassing, weird, unlikable parts are always going to be there too. The people I’m closest with will always end up seeing them, when they inevitably come hurling out of me like my night terrors in the middle of the night. This song's about holding onto that hope that the real ones will like me even with all my weird freaky stuff underneath. Even when I'm screaming at them in my sleep from across the hotel room.

Diet Cig have also announced a North American and UK tour that kicks off May 2 in Bristol, UK. The dates conclude June 6 in Charlottesville, VA and along the way Diet Cig will play Brooklyn’s Music Hall Of Williamsburg on May 16 and Lincoln Hall in Chicago on May 27. All dates are listed below and tickets go on-sale on Friday, January 31, 2020 @ 10AM local time.

NPR have called Diet Cig “utterly charming” and giving it 4 stars Rolling Stone dubbed Swear I’m Good At This a “fantastic fuzz-pop debut.” Luciano and Bowman formed Diet Cig in 2015 and put themselves on the map with the release of their first EP, Over Easy. A deal with Frenchkiss Records followed and with the release of Swear I'm Good At This the band were discovered by audiences around the world. The LP showcased Diet Cig's tenacity for crafting life-affirming, relatable tales with a gutsy heart at their core. Luciano has the ability to write lyrics that are both vulnerable and badass, perfecting a storm of emotive reflection that creates a vision of a sweaty, pumped-up room screaming these lines in unison. Around the album's release Luciano took place in a round-table discussion hosted by The New York Times whose headline read, "Rock's Not Dead, It's Ruled by Women" and the band were featured in the paper the week Swear I'm Good At This was released.  No strangers to the road Diet Cig consistently sell-out rooms around the world and always leave the crowd chanting for more.

Further praise for Diet Cig
"Swear I'm Good At This all adds up to a snapshot of a young songwriter navigating through the yearning and boredom, ambition and insecurity that accumulates along the rocky path from adolescence to adulthood. The power of Diet Cig comes from the way Luciano and Bowman bolster these themes with affirming positivity in the form of delightful, explosive anthems." - NPR

"The best pop-punk uses sweetness as a decoy for angst, and Alex Luciano, the frontwoman of Diet Cig, has a piercingly saccharine voice that veers toward extreme sadness as she deploys it." - NY Times

"The delightfully titled 'Barf Day' (embodies) what makes the pair's upcoming debut Swear I'm Good At This so enthralling: the featherweight garage grit, Luciano's subversive sincerity, and bandmate Noah Bowman's fist-pumping percussion...Against all odds, Diet Cig are coming of age on their own terms."" - Stereogum

Vocalist Alex Luciano brings a lighthearted innocence to ('Tummy Ache') singing criticisms of the patriarchy in the most charming way." - Nylon

"Swear I'm Good at This, (is) one of the most refreshingly fun albums of the year." - Noisey

"Diet Cig's debut album driven by Alex Luciano, is one of the most effeminate, flippant, giggly and cute albums of the year - and that's part of what makes it so f*cking good." - Uproxx

"loud, blunt, and totally fun." - Under The Radar

"Swear I'm Good At This, is charismatic, balancing rage and rebellion with poppy lightness...Luciano breathes life and space into these traditionally closed-off feelings, and her twee pop voice will have listeners tapping their feet and leaning in for more." - Bust

"Diet Cig's music is playful, upbeat and addictive." - Paste

"infectious indie-rock perfection" - NY Newsday

Revered artist, producer & percussionist Anderson .Paak has added two more GRAMMY Awards to his now growing collection. The wins come for Best R&B Album for Ventura and for Best R&B Performance for "Come Home" ft. Andre 3000. This is the second year in a row that he's received a GRAMMY having won last year for Best Rap Performance for his song "Bubblin".

The win officially bookends the biggest and most prolific year of the Los Angeles artist's career releasing two charting albums- Oxnard (debuted at #11 on the Billboard Top 200) and Ventura (debuted at #4 on the Billboard Top 200) both via Aftermath Entertainment, exclusively distributed by 12 Tone Music, LLC. The Oxnard campaign saw his first Saturday Night Live appearance and additional musical performances and couch spots on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, CBS This Morning and The Daily Show. The album was executive produced by Dr. Dre and features the likes of hip-hop legends Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, J. Cole, Q-Tip, and Pusha T.

Ventura featured Smokey Robinson, André 3000, Jazmine Sullivan, Brandy, Nate Dogg, Lalah Hathaway, and Sonyae Elise and saw appearances on Ellen, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Price is Right and more. His song "Make It Better" ft. Smokey Robinson was his first #1 song at Urban AC Radio (Mediabase). His subsequent Best Teef in the Game tour completely sold out and included his first Madison Square Garden and The Forum headline shows and 24 other stops across the US and Canada.

It was a great year for his philanthropic endeavors as with .Paak House - The Brandon Anderson Foundation - throwing their third .Paak House in the Park event. Hosted by Seth Rogan, Anthony Anderson and Anderson .Paak with performances from Anderson .Paak and the Free Nationals, The Game, YBN Cordae and more to support safe-havens for the next generation, while cultivating alliances with like-minded non-profit organizations to generate a greater impact.

"It's no secret that Anderson .Paak is one of the best entertainers we've got right now..." - NPR

"The springy bass line and jazzy chords reach back to the analog exuberance of 1970s Stevie Wonder, and like Wonder, Anderson .Paak fuses an optimistic sound with a spirit of determined resistance" -THE NEW YORK TIMES

".Paak's skill set is substantial - drummer, writer, producer, rapper, singer - and it's a sign of the 33-year-old's standing that the likes of Dre, Pharrell, Brandy, Kendrick Lamar, Pusha T, Snoop, Q-Tip, and J. Cole all made time for the Oxnard/Ventura sessions" - ROLLING STONE

"Make It Better" is smooth and heart wrenching" - BILLBOARD

"nothing short of thrilling" - ASSOCIATED PRESS

Anna Calvi unveils new collaborative LP ‘Hunted’ + US tour including Coachella, Listen to 1st track ft. Courtney Barnett!

In the summer of 2018, Anna Calvi released her third album Hunter. On the album, she explored sexuality and breaking the laws of gender conformity. Following a stellar 18 months, which saw Calvi write her first television score (for Peaky Blinders) and receive her third consecutive Mercury Prize nomination (the first solo artist to achieve this feat), Calvi has now crafted a stunning reworking of Hunter into Hunted.

Revisiting her first recordings for Hunter, Calvi found they offered an intimate and private view of the songs’ initial intentions. Distilled to their bare essence on Hunted: her masterful guitar playing and formidable vocals, Calvi then asked Courtney Barnett, Joe Talbot (IDLES), Charlotte Gainsbourg and Julia Holter to collaborate with her and further transform the songs.

Today, Calvi is pleased to share the first song from Hunted“Don’t Beat The Girl Out Of My Boy” featuring Courtney Barnett.

On Hunted, Calvi said, “During a break from touring I went back and listened to the first recordings I ever made of ‘Hunter’. These recordings capture the very moment I first wrote these songs, and recorded them on my own, in my attic studio. I find something especially intimate about sharing these most private recordings with my favourite singers and asking them to lend their voices and artistic sensibility. Courtney Barnett is an amazing artist. Her voice and guitar playing together are mind blowing. Her ability to connect the profound to the smallest moments of human experience is the unique talent of a true artist.”

On working together, Barnett said, “Anna is a completely awe-inspiring performer, it’s impossible to take your eyes off her onstage. I love her songwriting for its beautiful and perfect balance between aggression and tenderness.”

More raw-sounding than their original incarnations, the tracks on Hunted shine under the light of a different lens, one that brings the innate fragility of the compositions to the forefront and exquisitely melds together the dichotomy of the hunter and the hunted, the primal and the beautiful, the vulnerable and the strong.

Hunted – set for release on March 6th – is available to pre-order on limited edition red vinyl, CD and digitally. Pre-orderDom Mart | Digital
