Sevdaliza's new 'The Calling' EP out today + shares virtual fortune teller

SEVDALIZA RELEASES 'THE CALLING' EP TODAY

LISTEN TO THE EP HERE:

INTRODUCES VIRTUAL FORTUNE TELLER, MAJORA:

Iranian-born Dutch artist Sevdaliza releases 'The Calling' EP today via her own her own independent label, Twisted Elegance. The haunting EP solidifies Sevdaliza as true force as she continues to expand on her varied skills as a self-taught singer, songwriter, producer, director and composer. It also sees her further evolve her abstract and frequently minimalistic brand of music fused with breakbeat, triphop, grime, punk and experimental elements and 100% unapologetic art. The EP is out on all DSPs now and a special Moonstone colored vinyl of EP will arrive on April 21st. For more info visit: http://sevdaliza.com/.

Lined with a solar connection, the EP comes a day before the arrival of the "Full Blue moon" and she also dropped the previous singles on the arrivals of two different moons, the "Black Moon" and the "Blue Moon". Today she introduces Majora, a digital project and virtual fortune teller who visually captures the essence of the EP and shares personalized poems with fans on her website. The stunning 3-D model also captures fans' zodiac information and will deliver custom poems to them via Sevdaliza's social channels in the coming months. It was developed by Hirad Sab and Dalena Tran. Check out Majora here: http://majora.sevdaliza.com/.

More on Majora:
Majora is about 60 years old, chain-smoking, her face wears her age, and wears Persian traditional face tattoos. She is blind, her eyes glazing right through you, bright white like the lightbulb in front of her. She recites a short script of circa 30 seconds she makes you feel at ease, like you came to the right place because you didn't know exactly what it is that you are looking for, she ensures you that you might find it here. she recites a short personalized poem (randomly scripted out of 40 poems), she explains that in order to follow up, she needs you to give her a small piece of information.

From Sevdaliza:
"I find the imminate connection of the emotional body to the mind and soul intensely beautiful. Whenever I find ease in the mind, my physical pains dissolve. De-hydration of the soul, means drying out the cracks of the joints. These pains are experienced as real. They reflect in each layer of our being. In order to have clearness in our head, we need to clear our hearts. 'The Calling' is the soul telling me to return. Ground. She is the birth of all that is. When her voice cracks, it tenderly does like joints.

I believe there will come an end to where these painpoints point. By listening.

I am,

before I am mine or yours."

Since its humble beginnings as Fuck Yeah Fest, scattered around club venues in Echo Park, FYF Fest has excelled at providing Los Angeles music lovers with a festival as diverse as they are. The famously eclectic line-ups bring break-out stars of the moment together with established, beloved and iconic acts. Goldenvoice came on board as co-promoters in 2011 and are now the sole owners of the festival. Under their care, FYF grew into a two-day outdoor event and arrived at its current home of Exposition Park - with headliners The Strokes - in 2014. The following year saw the arrival of The Woods, which has quickly earned its place as a highlight of the festival and of LA’s dance music scene in general. The Woods features extended sets from DJs not usually found at U.S. festivals, as well as showcasing DJs from the local and international Queer scene. The festival’s growing global reputation has lured some of music’s most charismatic performers to Downtown Los Angeles, including Grace Jones, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Kanye West, Morrissey, Erykah Badu, Grimes, LCD Soundsystem, Solange, Bjork, D'Angelo, My Bloody Valentine and Missy Elliott.

For FYF 15, Goldenvoice booker Jennifer Yacoubian is working hand in hand with CEO Paul Tollett and former FYF Presents team Dave Peterson and Emily Twombly, whose work in bringing the festival to fruition dates back to 2009. Together, they’ve crafted the dynamic and vibrant festival Los Angeles deserves.

“FYF has been a Los Angeles staple for the past 15 years (happy anniversary to us!), and a very special event with a diverse booking that is unique to the festival,” saysFYF/Goldenvoice booker Jennifer Yacoubian. “In the past 15 years, this festival has grown immensely with a strong team of women and men behind it to bring fans the best weekend of summer. And with incredible artists like Janet Jackson and Florence + The Machine topping this year’s bill, we are so psyched to have two badass women leading the roster as we head into FYF Fest 2018.”

For the fourth year in a row, FYF Fest has partnered with Plus 1 to donate $1 of every ticket sold to high impact organizations working to support the people in our communities who need it the most, both locally and globally. Through this partnership over the last 3 years, $135,000 has gone to organizations such as My Friends Place, Partners In Health, Be The Match, American Immigration Council and Skateistan, with FYF Fest’s 2018 charity partners to be announced shortly.

Additionally, FYF Fest’s long standing commitment to local artists and businesses continues to be a vital part of their overall programming, with art installations from Los Angeles artists, as well as food and beverage options from some of the city’s favorite restaurants, and so much more.

Today, Kate Nash released her highly anticipated fourth studio album “Yesterday Was Forever.” The full-length album is available worldwide and includes recent singles “Life In Pink” [watch the official video HERE] and “Drink About You” [watch the official video HERE].

Next week on April 4, the British artist, actress and activist will be hitting the road in Vancouver for her North American tour. Her first tour on U.S soil in 5 years since the release of her critically acclaimed album “Girl Talk.” Tickets and more information for her upcoming tour can be found atwww.katenash.com

As one of the most honest, self-effacing and unpretentious pop-stars Britain has produced in a generation, Kate Nash is never going to let self-consciousness get the better of her. Now aged 30, Nash finds herself in a great place, she’s rediscovered her love for pop, launched a stellar acting career (currently starring in the female wrestling series 'GLOW'), and found communities of intersectional activists and progressive new voices to fight the good fight alongside.

For her, “Yesterday Was Forever” -- Kate’s fourth album and the first since her self-released 2013 LP“Girl Talk” -- is a phrase straight out of a teenage diary and it contains smatterings of '90s pop-rock (Meredith Brooks, but also The CranberriesAnnie LennoxAlanis Morissette and similarly forthright yet positive femme rock), alternative dance numbers, and spoken-word confessionals.

Opening track ‘Life in Pink’ is a bittersweet blend of bubble-gum-pop hooks and driving garage rock, powered by Kate’s honest and affecting lyricism directly addressing her mental health. 'Drink About You' is a rumination on a break-up, but it doesn't feel finite. “It's that thing of breaking up with someone and still pursuing it in a subconscious way. I struggle with letting go.” The chorus is a punch in the face, albeit fun and able to find the light even in the stress of the situation. Elsewhere 'Musical Theater' is a particularly prideful moment for Nash. It's a breakthrough in her writing and a summary of what she's been battling with the past few years. She describes it as a presentation of her own brain. “It's what's going on in my head. That is my anxiety, my mental health issue, my OCD. It's the fear I get in the middle of the night when I'm fighting my brain to not go completely fucking mental. You have to not give up on yourself.”

The current genre-bending, limitless spectrum for pop is very encouraging to Nash. She feels as connected to the writing world she's been part of (she co-wrote Rita Ora's single 'Poison' with now fully-fledged popstar Julia Michaels), as she is to underground DIY girl bands like London band Dream Wife, and indie heroes such as Best Coast's Bethany Cosentino and LA band Bleached. The supportive network has been a revelation for her, and not what she experienced coming up in the scene.

It's been a long journey for Kate Nash to feel this at peace with her body, her mind, and her music. With “Yesterday Was Forever she closes a chapter on the past and leaps ahead into the future. “I want people to have fun listening to this album, and to become comfortable with who they are. I know that so many people aren't. It's really painful to look at yourself in the mirror, square yourself in the eye and go, 'I like you and I'm OK with being me.' But it's so important and it's fucking liberating when you do.”

Yesterday Was Forever” is out everywhere now.

In other news, Kate has also been filming Season Two of the massively successful Liz Flahive(Homeland), Carly Mensch & Jenji Kohan's (Orange is The New Black) Netflix Original GLOW.

Kate Nash’s U.S tour starts on April 4 in Vancouver.

EXTENSIVE WORLD TOUR ON SALE NOW

When the Night is Over,” a new song from Lord Huron, debuts today. Listen/share it here:https://LordHuron.lnk.to/WTNIOPR. Of the track, singer/songwriter/producer Ben Schneider says, “We wanted this song to feel something like a Raymond Chandler story, a desperate search through a rain-soaked, neon-lit city. The groove section in the middle is one of my favorite passages on the album.” The track appears on the band’s highly anticipated record Vide Noir, out April 20 on Whispering Pines/Republic RecordsVide Noir can be pre-ordered here:https://LordHuron.lnk.to/VideNoirPR

Additionally, the band have made the additional seven songs off Vide Noir available to stream at geo-locations across the US, Canada and UK. Locations include hikes, national parks, beaches and even a volcano. Head to followtheemeraldstar.com for more information. The band has hinted at further immersive experiences to come, crafted to expand upon the album’s narratives and theme. A true multi-media artist, Schneider has once again created a hidden world to inhabit within Vide Noir. Watch the album trailer at http://bit.ly/2FjvWsi

In support of Vide Noir, the band is set for a worldwide tour beginning this spring. Even as the band headlines their largest venues to date, many shows (including New York City, Chicago, Boston, Oakland and Seattle) have sold out months in advance. Every pair of tickets ordered for the U.S. headlining tour includes a copy of Vide Noir. Tickets for the dates are on sale now at http://lordhuron.com.

Most recently, the band performed their lead single “Wait by the River” on “
Jimmy Kimmel Live!” The single is already the subject of widespread critical praise; the Los Angeles Timesproclaims, “It’s a gorgeous song, one with the majesty of a 1950s doo-wop ballad,” while SPINadds, “[‘Wait by the River’] offers a refined, waltz-like sound that can’t quite cover for the sins of a fatalistically obsessed narrator.”

Vide Noir was written and recorded over the past two years at Lord Huron’s Los Angeles studio and informal clubhouse, Whispering Pines, and was mixed by Dave Fridmann (The Flaming Lips/MGMT). Schneider found inspiration wandering restlessly through his adopted home of L.A. at night: “My nighttime drives ranged all over the city—across the twinkling grid of the valley, into the creeping shadows of the foothills, through downtown’s neon canyons and way out to the darksome ocean. I started imagining Vide Noir as an epic odyssey through the city, across dimensions, and out into the cosmos. A journey along the spectrum of human experience. A search for meaning amidst the cold indifference of The Universe,” he says.

Originally a musical and visual solo project by Michigan-native-turned-Angeleno Schneider, Lord Huron now includes members Mark Barry (percussion), Miguel Briseño (bass) and Tom Renaud (guitar). After a pair of independent EPs, Lord Huron released two full-length albums Lonesome Dreams (2012) and Strange Trails(2015) on IAMSOUND Records, followed by extensive touring and prestigious festival appearances both stateside and abroad. After appearing in the hit Netflix show “13 Reasons Why” the band’s song “The Night We Met” (from Strange Trails) was officially certified Platinum in January 2018.

Chris Carter (ex-Throbbing Gristle) Releases First New Album in 17 Years; Listen Now

CHRIS CARTER (EX-THROBBING GRISTLE)

RELEASES FIRST SOLO ALBUM IN 17 YEARS

LISTEN TO CHEMISTRY LESSONS VOLUME ONE
Photo: Cosey F Tutti
“… a new electronic masterpiece” – Electronic Sound

“An atmospheric masterclass” – Q Magazine

“…simultaneously looks back over its shoulder and glares straight into the eye of the future” – The Wire

“… one of the most astonishing electronic works…” - PROG

"...each [song is] propelled by percolating, Age Of Tomorrow synthesizers and awash in ghostly, extra-terrestrial voices to conjure late-night adventures in the lab." – AV CLUB

"...an overarching etude on experimental electronic music." – POPMATTERS

CHRIS CARTER has released his eagerly awaited new album – and his first in 17 years – Chris Carter’s Chemistry Lessons Volume One. Listen to the album here.

In addition, Carter has launched a series of “chemistry lesson” videos with Chris Carter’s Chemistry Lesson on Artwork. In the lessonCarter explains the process and inspirations behind his self-designed artwork. This will be followed tomorrow by Chris Carter’s Chemistry Lesson on Effects Pedals. Keep checking http://ccclv1.net/ – Chris’s newly launched website featuring an interactive periodic table – for additional lessons in the coming weeks.
Photo: Cosey F Tutti

Chemistry Lessons Volume One is populated with insistent melodic patterns and a distinct sense of wonderment at the limitless possibilities of science. “If there’s an influence on the album, it’s definitely ‘60s radiophonic,” Carter says. “And over the last few years I’ve also been listening to old English folk music, almost like a guilty pleasure, and so some of tracks on the album hark back to an almost ingrained DNA we have for those kinds of melodies.”

As a founding member of Throbbing Gristle alongside Cosey Fanni Tutti, Peter “Sleazy” Christopherson and Genesis Breyer P-Orridge, Chris Carter has had a significant role in the development of electronic music – a journey which has continued through his releases as one half of Chris & Cosey and Carter Tutti and a third of Carter Tutti Void – as well as with his own solo and collaborative releases.

He is also credited with the invention and production of groundbreaking electronics – from the legendary Gristleizer home-soldered effects unit through to the Dirty Carter Experimental Sound Generating Instrument and the sold-out TG One Eurorack module (designed with Tiptop Audio, these modules can be heard during Carter’s set at a recent Rough Trade event) and the Future Sound Systems Gristleizer modules – Carter has created the means to make sounds as well as making the sounds themselves.

The 25-track album was recorded in Carter’s own Norfolk, England studio and the artwork and accompanying videos were self-created, taking cues in part from battered old experimental BBC broadcast LPs.

Despite having been worked on over an extended period between various artistic projects in a variety of different moods, situations and circumstances, Chemistry Lessons Volume One’s experiments never feel like Carter noodling around aimlessly in his studio-laboratory. Instead there is an inner coherence and a distinctively Chris Carter approach to sound and execution that showcases the sonic scientist’s restless, questing creative spirit forever scouting for new ideas.

BECK “COLORS” DIRECTED BY EDGAR WRIGHT

BECK
“COLORS”
DIRECTED BY EDGAR WRIGHT
All the Colors. See the Colors. Feel the Colors… on a kaleidoscopic audiovisual voyage with Beck as your guide. Available exclusively at apple.co/ColorsMusicVideo, “Colors” is the dazzling new video directed by Edgar Wright (Baby Driver, The Cornetto Trilogy, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World), that brings the title track of Beck’s current album to vivid multi-hued life, aided and abetted by kinetic choreography by Ryan Heffington. Beck and Wright’s collaboration on the “Colors” video has resulted in something completely alien yet strangely familiar, as if an extraterrestrial culture had accidentally intercepted a transmission of a Busby Berkeley film—and chosen to create their own sequel.
Apple Music is home to the best music video-watching experience available anywhere — all ad-free. Starting right now, fans can enjoy “Colors” and other amazing Beck music videos on Apple Music at http://applemusic.com/musicvideos.
“Colors” is both the namesake and mission statement of Beck’s 13th album (and sixth to crack the U.S. Top 10), released October 13, 2017 by Capitol Records (and streamed 212 million times since). Following up 2015 GRAMMY Album of the Year winner Morning Phase and featuring “Dreams,” “Wow,” “Dear Life” and “Up All Night” (Beck’s third Billboard Alternative #1), Colors has been hailed as “yet another milestone” (WALL STREET JOURNAL),  “a euphoric blast” (USA TODAY) and a  “classic, sneakily inventive, massively catchy” (AV CLUB) album  “that proves that Beck is still one of rock’s most intrepid inventors” (ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY).
“Colors” is directed by Edgar Wright and choreographed by Ryan Heffington. The video was produced by Bridgitte Pugh and executive produced by Nina Soriano for Anonymous Content.
