October 18, 2019 — (Santa Monica, CA) — Today, Miya Folick shared her poignant version of Death Cab for Cutie’s “I Will Follow You into the Dark.” She recorded the single with producers Patrick Morrissey and David Dahlquist for the new Hulu Original series “Looking for Alaska, from the creators of The O.C. and Gossip Girl, which premieres today. View the visualizer HERE . “I Will Follow You Into The Dark” is available at all digital retailers via Terrible Records/ Interscope Records.

Of the track, Folick said, “To me, the greatest songs are the one that feels like they always existed, like they were just waiting out in the ether for someone to discover them. It makes 100% sense that Ben Gibbard wrote ‘I Will Follow You into the Dark’ in 15 minutes and feels like he channeled it. The song feels like a gift given to us to cope with loss and the unknown of death. It is a deeply special song, and I felt privileged to sing it.”

After playing a series of summer festivals, Folick is currently supporting Bishop Briggs on her North American tour. The run includes a show tonight at The Fillmore in Philadelphia and a November 1 concert at The Wiltern in Los Angeles. Folick will also play a series of headline shows this fall. See below for itinerary. Tickets are available HERE.

Raised in Santa Ana, CA, the Los Angeles-based recording artist and performer first rose to prominence with her 2015 debut EP, Strange Darling – which drew praise from the likes of The New York Times and NPR, landed a featured spot in Netflix’s hit show “13 Reasons Why” and accumulated over seven million Spotify streams – and the follow-up EP, 2017’s Give It To Me EP.

Last fall, she released her full-length debut,  Premonitions (Terrible Records/Interscope Records), to widespread acclaim. Pitchfork noted, “Both lyrically and vocally, Folick is a trapeze artist, plunging into uncertain, dark depths only to spring to the other side of the divide.” NPR said, “[Miya] may take your breath away.”
