After releasing a series of glistening, quick-fire singles over the last 12 months, Sinead Harnett has announced the release of her debut artist album, ‘Lessons In Love’, which releases on September 20 via Bad Music.
A singer-songwriter with a remarkable back catalogue – features on records by Rudimental, Disclosure, Kaytranada, Snakehips and more helped solidify her reputation as one of the UK’s most impressive vocal talents – Sinead has spent much of the last 12 months bound to the studio working on ‘Lessons In Love’.
Written around the core theme of ‘love’, Sinead recalls personal experiences to unpack just how much love – in all its guises – has impacted her own life and the people closest to her. Across 12 powerful new tracks, she also emerges as an emotional and purposeful songwriter – and one totally at peace with herself. “The more I love, the more I learn about its magic, its importance and its lessons”, explains Sinead. “In every song, there is a lesson. But most importantly, in every song, there is love.”
Featuring the singles ‘Lessons’, ‘By Myself’, ‘Leo Bear’ and latest drop ‘Pulling Away’ featuring US singer-songwriter Gallant, ‘Lessons In Love’ also cements a shimmering, sultry RnB sound that Sinead has been working hard at making her own. Collaborating with long-time producers JD. Reid (‘Lessons’) and Monro (‘All That You Are’, ‘Too Good For A Bad Thing’, ‘Him Too’), as well as coveted songwriters like Grades, Stint and Cass Lowe, ‘Lessons In Love’ lands as Sinead’s brightest and most accomplished work yet.
“I never planned the way this album would take shape and I didn’t know the title or concept until I’d chosen the songs”, Sinead reflects. “Up until now, I hadn’t even realised what my purpose is as a writer. But now, standing in front of this project I see that I’ve done everything out of love.”
To coincide with the announcement of ‘Lessons In Love’, Sinead has also unveiled the official video for ‘Pulling Away’ featuring Gallant, which was made Annie Mac’s Record of the Week on BBC Radio 1. Directed by Andre Muir and shot on location with Gallant in LA, it sees the pair tussle with their emotions as they weight up how to move forward after pulling away.

Following the release of ‘Lessons In Love’, Sinead has also announced an extensive new US tour. Kicking off at The Fonda Theare in Los Angeles on October 29, Sinead will take in a further seven dates across the US, before bringing the tour to a close at Warsaw in Brooklyn on November 13.
