Junius Meyvant Confirms East Coast U.S. Tour Dates In May; Stops In DC, Philly, And Baby's All Right In NYC

NPR Music's "Artist To Watch" Wraps Extensive European Tour Tonight In Berlin; New Album Across The Borders Out Now On Glassnote
Junius Meyvant has confirmed a U.S. run of tour dates on the East Coast this May, bringing his sprawling 6-piece band - complete with a horn section - to Washington D.C., Philadelphia, and Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn. The Icelandic artist, who was recently named one of NPR’s “Artists to Watch” in 2019, makes his return to the U.S. after an extensive month-long European tour, which wraps up in Berlin later today. He has also been confirmed for the 19th Annual NON-COMMvention in Philadelphia (May 14-17), where he'll share the stage with Morrissey, Phosphorescent and more.
Tickets are on sale today - see full dates below, more info here: http://juniusmeyvant.com/tour-dates
Junius Meyvant made his Glassnote Records debut earlier this year with the release of Across the Borders, which has been earning nods everywhere from NPR Music, Rolling Stone and beyond. TIME Magazine featured one of the album standouts, “New Waves,” in their “Songs You Need to Listen To” release week roundup alongside entries from Vampire Weekend and Dua Lipa - saying Junius “build[s] compositions as textured as the dramatic landscape from which he hails.”
More raves for Across the Borders:
“Listening to Junius Meyvant, no matter what issues you’ve got going on in your life, is enough to make you feel like everything’s gonna be all right - at least for the length of an album.” -NPR Music
“These new songs are Meyvant at his most soulful….[he] and his band feel like they could’ve stepped out of a smoky, 70s Detroit nightclub. It’s the best kind of time warp.” -KEXP
“Top tier….luscious pop, romantic melodies and superb arrangements” -Line of Best Fit
Junius played a small string of solo acoustic shows in the US earlier this fall, but these new tour dates in May will mark the first time that US audiences will hear Across the Borders in all its glory, backed by a horn section and full band. Rolling Stone caught a preview of the new music at Junius’ Iceland Airwaves performance this fall, naming him one of the Top 10 acts to catch at the festival for his “guaranteed rapturous” live show.
