DEAFHEAVEN’S NEW ALBUM ‘ORDINARY CORRUPT HUMAN LOVE’ IS OUT NOW ON ANTI- RECORDS
NORTH AMERICAN TOUR BEGINS TONIGHT IN DALLAS WITH UNIFORM AND DRAB MAJESTY AS SUPPORT
PITCHFORK BEST NEW MUSIC
"Human Love is Deafheaven’s subtlest, prettiest music, and it aims for a different kind of transcendence." - Pitchfork
“A beautiful, epic piece.” - Decibel
“Deafheaven's most confounding record and necessarily its most emotionally impressionistic, free to be interpreted in whatever way the listener needs.” - NPR
“Sublime atmospheric beauty lingers over everything like a haze.” – Stereogum (Album of the Week)
Deafheaven have released their critically acclaimed fourth album Ordinary Corrupt Human Love. The album is Deafheaven’s second full-length for ANTI- Records.
Produced by Jack Shirley, Ordinary Corrupt Human Love greatly expands on the heavy, kinetic sound previously shown on albums like 2015’s New Bermuda. Along with placing more prominence on piano, Deafheaven gracefully weave in layered psychedelic vocals, jazz-inspired percussion, classic rock riffs, and shoegaze-esque textures.

With its title taken from Graham Greene’s The End of the AffairOrdinary Corrupt Human Love centers on themes of hazy, yearning romanticism. Throughout the album, Deafheaven also bring their literary sensibilities to songs like lead single “Honeycomb” (which references seminal Argentinian writer Julio Cortázar) and “You Without End” (which opens with the forlorn spoken word of Nadia Kury).
Known for their transcendent live show, Deafheaven are now touring the U.S. in support of Ordinary Corrupt Human Love. The 30-date run continues tonight at Gas Monkey in Dallas and wraps up on August 18 at The Wiltern in L.A. In addition, Deafheaven have announced a UK/EU summer tour with Inter Arma as support.

Formed in San Francisco in 2010, Deafheaven made their debut with 2011’s Roads To Judah and had an unexpected crossover hit with their 2013 sophomore effort Sunbather. Along with being praised as “one of the best albums of the year” by Stereogum, their third album New Bermuda was hailed as “a brilliant collision of beauty and despair” in Pitchfork’s Best New Music review.
