Praise for Everything Was Beautiful, And Nothing Hurt:

"...the most vulnerable album Moby has made in years, one that doesn’t shy away from desolation and also acknowledges that, within helplessness, beauty can arise." – PITCHFORK

“…some of Moby’s most impassioned performances to date." – CONSEQUENCE OF SOUND

"[Moby] explores the end of all things with subtlety and grandeur." – ROLLING STONE

“…a genuine tour de force, both lyrically and sonically..." – BLACKBOOK

"…gorgeous...Fifteen albums in, Moby still delivers the goods." – UNDER THE RADAR

Last night, Moby and his band performed a stirring rendition of “This Wild Darkness” on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Joining Moby was Vy Higginsen’s Sing Harlem Choir from the Mama Foundation for the Arts. “This Wild Darkness” is the penultimate track on Moby’s recently released fifteenth studio album, Everything Was Beautiful, And Nothing Hurt. Watch the Late Show performance here.

Reflecting on the urgent beauty of “This Wild Darkness,” Moby says, “'the world is a baffling place, full of confusion and darkness. ‘This Wild Darkness’ is essentially an existential dialog between me and the gospel choir – me talking about my confusion, the choir answering with longing and hope.” Watch the video for “This Wild Darkness” here.

Moby has curated a playlist filled with artists that influenced the recording of his new album. Listen and subscribe here to the playlist, on Spotify and YouTube.

Tonight and tomorrow, Moby will perform the two sold-out – and extremely rare – live shows at Brooklyn’s Rough Trade where he will perform Everything Was Beautiful, And Nothing Hurt in its entirety. Moby will also be hosting an on-site signing at 7pm ahead of tonight’s Rough Trade performance.

Everything Was Beautiful, And Nothing Hurt – a glowing tapestry exploring spirituality, individuality and the brokenness of humanity – finds Moby returning to his orchestral, soul, trip-hop and gospel roots. Watch the previous videos for lead single “Like a Motherless Child” and “Mere Anarchy.”

Physical formats of Everything Was Beautiful, And Nothing Hurt include a gatefold-housed double LP edition and a 6-panel CD digipack edition. Order here.

During 2016, Moby released the critically-acclaimed Porcelain: A Memoir that traces his rise to international stardom. When he’s not recording music, Moby continues to champion animal rights and sustainability via his activism and vegan restaurant Little Pine.
