MILES FRANCIS PREMIERES NEW VIDEO FOR  "DESERVE YOUR LOVE" VIA STEREOGUM

SWIMMERS EP OUT NOW

PERFORMING IN BROOKLYN ON FEB 8th

New York, NY's Miles Francis shared his new music video for "Deserve Your Love" viaStereogum. The song is from his debut EP, entitled Swimmers, which is out now. The video was directed by Charles Billot with choreography by Magdalyn Segale. Stereogumdescribes the EP as "catchy, intimate" and adds that the song's -"soft, swelling acoustic riffs embellish Francis' soaring vocals..."

Miles says about the track: "'Deserve Your Love' deals with the complexities and risks in a new romance. Where there's overconfidence there's deep insecurity; where there's a sweet exterior there's evil brewing underneath - all within one person. It's sung from the perspective of either a self-conscious wounded lover or an unemotional jerk. The video depicts the latter. The lead character has a terrible night - gets slapped in the face, gets beaten up, has his car stolen - only to end up enjoying a nice ice cream cone and returning home, totally unfazed."

Miles Francis also released videos for EP tracks, "Take It" which was premiered by The Fader and "Complex," which premiered via Mass AppealSwimmers is available to stream on Baeble Music who describe the EP - "Reminiscent of The Dirty Projectors and even St. Vincent, Miles Francis' debut EP...will catch you by surprise with catchy hooks and a thick layer of emotional depth."

At only 26 years of age, Miles Francis is already known amongst musicians as one of the best kept secrets of the NYC music scene.  Since he started playing - first the drums at 6, then guitar, bass, keyboards, other percussion, anything he could get his hands on - he's been an audiophile of the highest order.  As a working musician, Miles has collaborated and performed with The Roots, Sharon Jones, Amber Mark, Angelique Kidjo, Allen Toussaint, Tunde Adebimpe (TV on the Radio) and many others; toured the world with Will Butler (Arcade Fire), Antibalas, and EMEFE; and appeared on shows like Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and The Late Show with David Letterman.

And now comes Swimmers --- the 5-song EP, replete with meticulous and supremely catchy songs, is a brilliant introduction to an exciting new voice in leftfield pop.  Nothing is looped and there's no computer magic filling in missing lines; Swimmers is pop music with an edge. Swimmers also captures the heady mood and vibe of one's early 20's remarkably well, written in the back of a tour van and various hotel rooms, and then recorded by Miles alone in his basement studio. "These five songs captured a raw time for me, when life seemed to be coming to a head. I made an effort not to touch or edit them too much once I had recorded them. I wanted to keep that intimacy in there," he says.  Indeed, these are songs from someone who knows what he wants to say, how to say it, and perhaps most importantly, how to keep you listening.  And you'll definitely want to keep listening.
