New York, NY - June 3, 2014 - The Village Voice is proud to announce new additions to the lineup for its free annual 4Knots Music Festival, being held on Saturday, July 12th from 1-8pm featuring previously announced headliner Dinosaur Jr.. New additions to the lineup include rising slacker-rocker Mac DeMarco plus Beijing-based post-punk trio Re-TROS and Brooklyn's own indie fuzz pop trio Dead Stars. These artists will round out the previously announced lineup including Those Darlins, Speedy Ortiz, Radkey, Viet Cong, Nude Beach, and Juan Wautersperforming at New York City's South Street Seaport, rain or shine.
Announced last week, the Official 4Knots Music Festival After Party will feature rapper and hip hop recording artist Ab-Soul with special guests. Ab-Soul is known from recording with his hip hop super group Black Hippy, featuring Kendrick Lamar, Jay Rock & Schoolboy Q. The After Party Show will take place at Webster Hall on July 12th, immediately following the festival. Tickets for the After Party are just $30. With this year's festival, The Voice continues their 14-year history of curating free, outdoor, all ages live music festivals featuring the most renowned and emerging artists breaking through today's scene. Running between every borough of New York City and culminating near the South Street Seaport, the East River runs at a speed of "4 knots", hence the name of the festival at this unique and historic location.
Bud Light is returning as the 4Knots Music Festival presenting sponsor. Additional 2014 sponsors include Metro PCS, Original Bill's, Barefoot Wine & Bubbly, Rita's Water Ice, Steaz, and Volvic.
