Blue Horizon is excited to announce that The Black Angels are releasing their new record, Indigo Meadow, today, April 2nd. iTunes selected the album as an Editors' Choice and is also featuring the lead single "Don't Play With Guns" in a free track promotion. The Associated Press said, "Imagine tossing bands from the pantheon of American psychedelia like The Electric Prunes, Count Five, 13th Floor Elevators and The Seeds into your blender, adding a splash of Sabbath and a dollop of early Soundgarden or Mudhoney, and you've got Austin's The Black Angels. On Indigo Meadow, these Texans keep this elixir swirling. Their fourth album is modern psychedelia, true to the earlier form, with all the weird, hypnotic, fuzzy guitar sounds and dirgelike keyboards, only really well produced." Relix hailed, "Hyperinventive when it counts, the Angels aren't just mimicking a late '60s garage sound - they're bending, stretching and molding it in their own image."

The Black Angels' (Christian Bland - guitar, drone machine/organ; Alex Maas - vocals, bass, organ, drone machine; Stephanie Bailey - drums, percussion; Kyle Hunt - keyboards, percussion, bass, guitar) most revelatory collection thus far, Indigo Meadow marks the Austin, Texas-based band's fourth full-length release, following 2010's acclaimed Phosphene Dream. Once again The Black Angels prove themselves the undisputed avatars of contemporary psychedelic rock, simultaneously exalting the genre's kaleidoscopic past as they thrust it ever further into the future.

Now a quartet, the band - with the able support of producer John Congleton (David Byrne & St. Vincent, Clinic, Explosions In The Sky) - have brought new focus to their wide-ranging songcraft, their righteous riffs and dogmatic drones gaining increased power as they fuel a more expansive emotional trajectory.
Founded in 2004, The Black Angels have been the spearhead of the post-millennial psychedelic movement, picking up the mantle of their hometown's long lysergic history and reinvigorating it with progressive political commentary and unrestrained creativity and ambition.  Long hailed for their monumental live sets, The Black Angels will celebrate the arrival of Indigo Meadow with a major North American tour, set to get underway April 4th at Athens, GA's Georgia Theatre and then ends May 26th at San Antonio, TX's White Rabbit.  Support comes from a stellar line-up of lysergically like-minded artists, including Allah-Las, Elephant Stone, Hanni El Khatib, and Wall of Death.
