Beach House has scheduled both European and North American spring tours for 2013 in support of Bloom, their acclaimed 4th album.  The band will begin their 18-date European trip on March 9 in Bologna, IT at Estragon and close it out with a two-night stand on March 25 and 26 in London, UK at the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire. Beach House will then embark on a 3-week North American tour, which begins on April 8 in El Paso, TX at Tricky Falls and ends on April 26 with a special hometown show in Baltimore, MD at the Lyric Opera House, with support from special guests Lower Dens. Additionally, the band has scheduled festival performances on April 12 and 19 for both Coachella weekends and June 7 in New York  at the Governors Ball on Randall’s Island. Please find a full list of tour dates below.

You can now view the trailer for Beach House’s forthcoming concert film, Forever Still. The full film will be available for viewing later this month at Pitchfork TV.  The film was shot on location on the outskirts of El Paso, TX (see Pitchfork news story Jan. 28).

In related news, Beach House's World Cafe performance will air on February 1. You can listen to the session here at http://www.xpn.org/music-artist/xpn-stream.

In celebration of an excellent 2012 (which saw release of the band’s new album Bloom) and the arrival of 2013, Beach House has created a behind-the-scenes film for the track “New Year.”  The band says of the clip, “Here is a video we made using footage from our recording session at Sonic Ranch Studios, Tornillo, Texas. It's more of a home video thing, not a music video.......we just thought these moments and the memories they involve fit this song.” Beach House also recently premiered an intense and compelling clip for “Wild,” directed by filmmaker Johan Renck (Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, Madonna, The Knife).  Both videos are available for viewing at YouTube now.

Beach House's critically-acclaimed Bloom has earned placement on over 50 year-end lists for 2012 including the Village Voice “Pazz & Jop” critics poll, Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, Billboard, Filter, Complex, Magnet, Under the Radar, Paste, PopMatters, Gorilla vs. Bear, and Consequence of Sound.  Bloom is also the no. 2 album for the year at CMJ, in addition to its four-week stand at no. 1 on the chart in the summer of 2012.  Bloom also became the band’s first Billboard top 10 album, debuting at no. 7 on the Top 200 chart.

Led by the singles “Myth” and “Lazuli,” Bloom was recorded in late 2011 at Sonic Ranch Studios in Tornillo, TX, co-produced by Beach House and Chris Coady, and mixed at Electric Lady in NYC. The album is now available in the US and Canada on CD, double-LP, and digital formats from Sub Pop Records. The album is also available in the following territories: in Europe from Bella Union, in Mexico from Arts and Crafts, and in Australia from Mistletone.

What people are saying about Bloom:
“The two-piece dream-pop band wraps listeners in lush, expansive down comforters of sound." [30 Artists to Watch in 2012]  - Entertainment Weekly

"How did Jay-Z and Beyoncé's favorite indie-pop duo top their 2010 breakthrough, Teen Dream? By coming up with an even prettier vision of synth-y, Eighties-steeped romanticism. Languid lead singer Victoria Legrand has some dark stuff on her mind – mortality and ruin keep bubbling to the surface of the Baltimore act's fourth LP ("Can't keep hanging on . . . to what is dead and gone," she sings on "Myth"). But you'd hardly know it from the blissful way she lets her voice blend with the softly bobbing organ chords and arpeggiated guitars." [50 Best Albums 2012] - Rolling Stone

“The music dissolves girl groups, minimalist patterns, rock anthems, drones and lullabies into a thoughtful stasis. Instead of seeking to create peaks and valleys, Beach House songs thicken without building up; they find equipoise and hold it." [Critics’ Choice] - New York Times

"Bloom is another solid output from the Baltimore duo, one that’s distinctively Beach House—light, whimsical, almost delicate and not unlike an actual blooming flower. Alex Scally masterfully crafts entrancing, methodical guitar arrangements that pair perfectly with Victoria Legrand’s gauzy voice to form a dreamy, almost ethereal-sounding pop album that’s as sweeping as it is audibly beautiful. But lyrically it’s full of painful imagery of unrequited love and letting go of something to which you still feel attached. That’s the Beach House’s formula: juxtaposing themes of heartbreak, loss and longing with hypnotic rhythms that build upon each other and careen hazily to a sparkling chorus. But the band does it with more force this time around." [50 Best Albums 2012] - PASTE

“The songwriting is tighter, yet the atmosphere feels more diffuse; the lyrics are more straightforward, yet they're somehow suggestive of larger things. By just about every measure, Bloom's wingspan is fuller than anything Beach House have done before." [9.1 “Best New Music”] - Pitchfork

Bloom is a masterstroke, an utter gamechanger…Bloom should be to the year 2012 what Loveless was to 1991, or Yankee Hotel Foxtrot was to 2002, or Funeral was to 2004: a landmark release.” [10/10] - PopMatters
