Today, Australian rock band Radium Dolls share Wound Up, a front-to-back album built for performance and connection – packed with heavy riffs, punchy drums, and chantable hooks. Uncompromising in its honesty and intensity, Wound Up sees the band put the pedal to the metal to create with steadfast passion, even when it feels like the world is closing in around them – listen

Written across fragmented sessions and jam-led rehearsals, the album reflects the realities of making art when time and certainty are scarce. Some tracks came together in a single day while others changed form over months, resulting in a record that shifts between urgency and restraint and confidence and vulnerability – without ever losing its sense of momentum.

Drummer Bryce Equinox shares, “Wound Up was written during a time where we were all going through a lot of life changes. For me, it was leaving a long-term relationship, and for others, it was starting new relationships and commitments while managing full-time jobs. We were trying to just deal with life in between our uncontrollable desire to createTo me, this album is a landmark in our career and proved how capable we are at making meaningful art no matter the circumstances.”

Wound Up lands at a moment of real momentum for Radium Dolls. Since the release of their debut album Legal Speed in March 2024, the band have sold out headline tours across Australia, steadily growing their audience and earning ongoing support from community radio, driven by a reputation for high-intensity, unfiltered live performances.

It’s tough to balance everything sometimes; we all work hard in every aspect of our lives, but we find catharsis in music and performance, and we will do it til the wheels fall off. This album to me is about that – we all get a bit wound up sometimes, but we keep going and we do what we have to do,” says frontman William Perkins.

The band is gearing up to bring their captivating, high-energy live shows on the road this year, with extensive Australian and North American tours planned for this February and March – including their SXSW debut. Find more information and tickets here.
