Today sees Cast achieve a new career highpoint, with the release of their eagerly anticipated new album ‘Yeah Yeah Yeah’. Perhaps, just a short time ago, you wouldn’t have bet on lightning striking twice for Cast to make a record as engaging as their phenomenal ‘All Change’ breakthrough. But recent years have seen all the pieces fall into place to re-spark the band, from the success and acclaim that greeted their ‘Love Is The Call’ album, to inspired collaborators such as Youth and P.P. Arnold, and - of course - the huge reactions they received as guests on the Oasis stadium tour.

The ‘Yeah Yeah Yeah’ singles have been exemplary, inspiring new fans and reconnecting with old followers, as well as earning their most substantial airplay in decades. ‘Poison Vine’, ‘Way It’s Gotta Be (Oh Yeah)’, ‘Calling Out Your Name', and Free Love’ all radiate with their reinvigorated zest for creativity, whether they’re serving up a cocktail of rock & soul, pulsating with a Stonesy strut, or capturing a tender melancholy that echoes their early hit, 'Walkaway'.

John Power says, “‘Yeah Yeah Yeah’ just arrived out of the blue. There was a window of opportunity – Youth was free, the studio was free, and the band were free – and I thought, let providence prevail. No one had heard the songs apart from myself and Alan McGee, but we both thought that we had something. You could feel it, even though none of the songs were really finished, and so we decided to roll with it and record them. It was more than just trying to capture a vibe – it was about trying to record something majestic, which is how Youth describes the record.”

The album’s new focus track, ‘Birds Heading South’, brings down the curtain on the record with wistful poignancy. From its serene introduction, it takes flight with rich sonic textures - sweeping strings, an emotionally charged guitar solo - as it builds towards a euphoric finale. Its lyrics are also perfect for the context of this record in the Cast story. You can never predict what comes next in life, so all you can do is go with the journey

John adds, “‘Birds Heading South’ is a song about the changing of the seasons , the ghosts of yesterday and the passing of time. When all your dreams have fled the nest and all that might have been is all that’s left."

Physical copies of ‘Yeah Yeah Yeah’ are available to buy HERE. Jacaranda offer an exclusive limited edition CD, which adds three songs from their performance at Liverpool’s famous Cavern Club, after they were honored with a brick in the venue’s Wall of Fame. Assai’s exclusive is also a limited edition; a clear vinyl with Japanese-style obi strip packaging. Several formats from the band’s official store are already sold-out, but a picture disc and a cornetto-coloured vinyl are among the must-have items still available.

The band have just embarked upon an album release tour in the UK, which continues into February - limited tickets are available HERE. Their summer plans are taking shape, with two huge shows as guests to Richard Ashcroft, outdoor headline shows in Glasgow and at Humberfest, plus the Neighbourhood Weekender, Britfest and Victorious Festivals.
