"If the doors of perception were cleansed every thing would appear to man as it is, infinite."
The Portable-Infinite started in January 2005. It is the creation of one person: Alexander Laurence. It started in the ashes of all the other magazines and websites that I have been involved with the past 20 years. The purpose of The Portable-Infinite is collect all the interviews and essays I have written over the years. Plus there is always new material being added all the time. This is a blog that is focused on what is happening in Los Angeles right now in music and pop culture. It's all about now and the future.
It's really a scrapbook. There are a lot of new photos being added all the time. I am also very interested in the new art gallery scene that has taken off in Downtown LA. So hopefully after a while there will be a lot of interesting content on here each day. From May 2009 to present, I have been working with photographer, Angel Ceballos (robotangel.com). She is based in Seattle, but has shot a lot of bands in LA over the years. I have interviewed over 200 authors and 200 bands. All new interviews in the future will be audio only and featured on RADIO KAJW. New photographers and collaborations are happening all the time. From 2020 on, there will be mostly photos and radio shows and daily news about music.
I started doing radio shows on KAJW in January 2020. My show is called NEW NOISE and streaming Fridays at 3pm PST. It repeats on sat and sun at 3pm. I also do LATE NIGHT RADIO 1-17 and BOOK TALK which you can find on Mixcloud.
