Made up of Alex Capistran, Nick Cornetti (drums), Misti Hamrick (bass) and Derek Strahan (keys), DAIISTAR formed in the spring of 2020. Creating a narcotic blend of noise and melody, the band takes their inspiration from the neo-psychedelic era of the 80s and 90s and pulls it into the future with modulating synthesizers, heavy guitars, bouncing bass lines, and spiraling hooks. Their debut studio album, Good Time, was produced by Alex Maas of The Black Angels and engineered by James Petralli of White Denim.

"To us these songs were a glimmer of light," Capistran recalls: “Starting a band at the peak of the pandemic to some might seem ill timed, but to us it was a way to escape for a moment. There was something to look forward to and we kept our heads in the future. These songs guided us through some dark times and hopefully they can do the same for you. GOOD TIME is here!"

Charli XCX Releases 'Von dutch' – First Single From New Album 'BRAT'

[Credit: Terrence O’Connor]

“The push-and-pull between vulnerability and braggadocio is at the heart of XCX6” The FACE

[Thursday 29th February, London]

Charli XCX today releases ‘Von dutch’ - the first single taken from her highly anticipated forthcoming new album ‘BRAT’.

You can listen to ‘Von dutch’ HERE and watch the video HERE.

Produced by EASYFUN, ‘Von dutch’ is a brash and synth heavy return from the avant-pop superstar and an exciting indication of her new era. The accompanying video, directed by Torso, was shot at Paris’ Charles de Gaulle airport and features Schwarzkopf as the official hair partner.

Charli’s impending sixth studio album ‘BRAT’ is the eagerly awaited follow up to 2022’s ‘CRASH’, which reached number 1 on the UK’s official album chart, and promises to be an exhilarating club record built around high art references and social commentary: a new era both musically and visually.

You can pre-save ‘BRAT’ HERE and pre-order the vinyl HERE.

Last week saw Charli throw a momentous Boiler Room in New York’s Brooklyn to launch her new campaign with A. G. CookGeorge DanielEASYFUN and Doss. The show broke the record for the most ever RSVPs to a Boiler Room event, with over 40k people registering to attend. Featuring special guest appearances from the likes of Addison Rae and Julia Fox, the show has easily become one of the viral moments of the year and found the likes of PAPER Magazine lavishing praise on the “sweaty, floor-rattling rave we’ll be referencing for years to come”.

Alongside her new album, Charli has been working on multiple film & TV projects following the breakout success of her Barbie soundtrack contribution ‘Speed Drive’ last year. She is co-executive producing the score for the A24 film ‘Mother Mary’ with Jack Antonoff and also producing original music for Benito Skinner’s series ‘Overcompensating’ on Prime Video. In addition, Charli will star in the Daniel Goldhaber remake of 1978 cult horror film ‘Faces of Death’.

Avant-pop and electronic superstar Charli XCX has become an iconic figure in the arts, having helped expand the landscape of popular music over the last decade by seamlessly traversing the underground and mainstream with her artistic output. Over the course of a trailblazing career, the multi-hyphenate creative has earned critical acclaim for her innovative style and entrepreneurial spirit and seen her forward-thinking approach reshape pop culture in the process.

Her lasting impact was cemented last year when Charli was honoured with the Visionary Award at the annual Ivor Novellos in London, while she will also receive the Powerhouse Award at Billboard’s Women In Music ceremony next week in Los Angeles.

DRAIN Announce The Good Good Tour

Featuring Terror, Angel Du$t, Scowl & More

"Right out of the gate, Living Proof solidifies itself as record that’s oozing with charisma, ferocious and intricate grooves, and riffs that’ll turn the heads of both metal and hardcore fans alike." - Forbes

This is some top-shelf thrashed-out hardcore music.” - Stereogum

Every Drain song sounds like pouring a case of Mentos into a gallon of cola, dousing it with gasoline and then chucking it into a bonfire.” - Revolver

The group’s blend of rage-fueled-punk-rock-attitude and heavy hardcore has pulled in listeners from all extreme music circles...” - Lambgoat

For punk-rock fans who don’t dig Turnstile’s penchant for melody, Knocked Loose’s knack for beatdowns, or Title Fight’s poppy tendencies, Drain could be just what they need.”- FLOOD

Special guests include MadballRegulateMindforceGod’s Hate and more as they make their way across the country.

“"The Good Good Tour is so insanely stacked that it looks like a fake fest generated by someone's Spotify Wrapped haha,” DRAIN vocalist Sammy Ciaramitaro enthuses. “There is literally something for everyone across the wide varying sound of hardcore. We hand picked each band and are so amazed at how well the lineup came together. We have everything from our friends and contemporaries to legendary bands who have changed the genre and paved the way for us. Every show is special, but for the bigger cities we wanted to give a little extra cherry on top - we're calling them the Beach Parties and are bringing out a few special guests who won't be on the whole tour. Omar Doom Presents Destryur: New Album Dimensions Out March 29 - New Single ‘Under Your Skin ft. Iyes Keen’ Out Today

Omar Doom Presents Destryur: New Album Dimensions Out March 29
New Single ‘Under Your Skin ft. Iyes Keen’ Out Today
Splatterday Night March 23 At The Goat New Orleans

February 29, 2024 New Orleans, LA:  Destryur (aka Chris Taylor) will release a new album Dimensions on Doom Vision March 29. This is the sixth full length from the producer, DJ and artist and the first with Doom Vision, a label started by musician, producer and actor, Omar Doom who records under the moniker STRAIGHT RAZORDimensions draws inspiration from horror movies, ghost stories, and EDM - this album includes everything from mid-tempo, dubstep, phonk, and classic synthwave.

With the album announcement Destryur also shares the first single ‘Under Your Skin featuring Iyes Keen' with who the song was created. It is a haunting, bass-heavy ballad inspired by Taylor's love of vampires and nights in New Orleans’ French Quarter.

Destryur puts on a bi-monthly DJ night in New Orleans called ‘Splatterday Night’ mixing synthwave, mid-tempo, giallo disco, and other dark electronic. The next party is March 23rd at The Goat, New Orleans.

Destryur will also perform live October 19th at House of Rock, Corpus Christi Texas.

Watch the lyric video for ‘Under Your Skin ft. Iyes Keen’ on YouTube:

About Destryur: Destryur is Chris Taylor originally hailing from Tampa, FL and New York City. As a kid he had an interest in music production starting with creating hip hop mix CD’s in high-school and giving them to friends for free. Daft Punk’s Homework and Justice’s Cross turned him onto EDM and made him want to produce music with more electronic elements. He started making trap style/dubstep music around 2011 and discovering synthwave (Mitch Murder and Perturbator) changed his musical direction. He started spinning at Sam Valentine's Nightwav dance parties and set himself apart from his Darksynth peers with music infinitely more danceable but just as menacing. Each of his releases are a self-contained world of madness and kitsch. Sleazy city underbellies to hillside horrors. Destryur wears his Troma influences proudly and pulls inspiration from films, re-interpreting the stories into songs using mostly digital instruments with the occasional hardware synthesizers Moog SubPhatty and Jupiter 8.

Destryur's debut album Panic slashed its way into the world in 2019, peaking at #1 on Bandcamp's Electronic albums and #17 on the iTunes Russia charts. In 2020, Destryur teamed up with STRNGR to release Night at the Grindhouse on NRW Records, which solidified his foothold in the Darksynth scene. Destryur has also been featured on the documentary soundtracks 'In Search of Darkness' Parts 2 and 3. His music has garnered over 3 million streams across Spotify and Apple Music.

Destryur has played alongside some of the best electronic artists, including Perturbator, GosT, Magic Sword, Combichrist, Brothel and Omar Doom’s STRAIGHT RAZOR.

About Doom Vision: Omar Doom started Doom Vision to create a home for his project, STRAIGHT RAZOR, and to put out music that he loves. "I was a fan of Destryur long before I met him at a show he played in LA back in March 2023. We had already begun messaging about our shared interest in horror movies/soundtracks and art. When I heard he was working on album I demanded to hear it. I was floored when I heard it and immediately asked him to put it out on Doom Vision."

POMME RELEASES “_JUN PERSEIDES”, HER ALBUM SAISONS COMES OUT MARCH 22ND

HER ALBUM SAISONS COMES OUT MARCH 22ND HERE

Today, Pomme unveils "_jun perseides" from her album Saisons, out on March 22, 2024. June stands for the first of three summer tracks that Pomme has chosen to call "perseides", the famous shower of shooting stars that floods the summer sky.

A deep folk ballad, perhaps the most personal and interior on the album. She composed it with Malvina, with whom she teamed up to produce her orchestral concerts last autumn. Late last year, Pomme released the first half of the Saisons album - the Autumn/Winter part - including the song “_dec carte de noĂŤl” which was co-written with Aaron Dessner (The National, Taylor Swift, Justin Vernon etc). Last week, she revealed the “saisons, le film: l’hiver” short film HERE to celebrate the end of the Autumn/Winter era, and start the Spring/Summer era, today.

"The stars move in a warm ballet, announcing "Summer" and its rebirths of love. It's first and foremost a love song, but also one of a return to life, like discovering a new river you never knew existed. A deep folk ballad, perhaps the most personal and interior on the album. What could be more cyclical than an initiation song to close the album? A tableau in which Malvina's brass and woodwinds recount the rehearsal of first times in a Tchaikovsky-style ballet." - Flavien Berger

With 12 tracks, each echoing a month of the year, Saisons is a powerful project that aims to surprise, and once again demonstrates the musician's singular artistic vision.

This new album follows on from A peu près, which made her a household name, Les Failles, certified platinum in France, and Consolation gold certified in France, a particularly personal project written during the pandemic between France and Canada. This album Saisons, to be listened to in one go, invites us to lie down on a thick carpet and imagine our dream cartoon. This change of trajectory in Pomme's discography resonates with her desire to create a collective gesture within her new pieces, to relinquish total control of the project, collaborating with other artists on composition and production.

Pomme has won the hearts of an eclectic public, notably through exceptional concert productions, for which she was nominated at the Victoires de la Musique 2024 (the French GRAMMYs) in the Concert of the Year category.
