“Instantly addictive… The Last Dinner Party have done it again”

DIY Magazine

Today, The Last Dinner Party confirm dates supporting Olivia Rodrigo in Los Angeles and Brooklyn. The band will perform four dates opening for Rodrigo at Los Angeles’s Intuit Dome in January 2027 and four shows at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center in February. Abigail Morris of the band shares, “"When Olivia asked us to open for her on this very special residency we were honoured and thrilled beyond words. Previously opening for her at Hyde Park in 2025 showed us not only that she is one of the most captivating and talented rock stars today, but that she has cultivated such a beautiful fanbase and we can’t wait to play for them again over these dates in LA and New York!” Tickets for these dates will go on sale here on Thursday, May 7th at 12PM local.

The second leg of the band’s 31-date tour of the US and Canada, with dates in cities including Vancouver, Los Angeles, Detroit, Nashville, Atlanta, and more (full dates below) will kick off on May 19th. Rolling Stone hailed the tour for it’s “feminine rage and rock & roll grandeur” and ran photo gallery from the band’s Brooklyn Paramount show. Tickets for all dates are on sale here.

The Last Dinner Party have announced their new song “Big Dog,” a fan favorite and staple of their live set, will be released on May 8th.

Recently the band sat with CBS This Morning’s Anthony Mason for an all-encompassing interview ahead of their US tour. The London five-piece discuss their upbringing, influences, and meteoric rise. Watch the full interview here.

The Last Dinner Party’s second studio album From the Pyre is out now via Island Records. For the album, the band headed into the studio early 2025 with Grammy Award winning producer Markus Dravs (Wolf Alice, Florence & The Machine, Bjork) to start work on the follow-up to their number 1 debut album, 2023’s Prelude to Ecstasy. From The Pyre is the sound of a band having a lot of fun rather than feeling any innate pressure to follow-up on what was an explosively successful debut record. It’s also the sound of a young band developing and maturing their songwriting together, as tight a unit as the endless months out on the road pay testament to. From the Pyre is available on all formats here.

With two BRIT Awards to their name (including Breakthrough Artist earlier this year), and having sold out virtually every show they played right across the globe (including three sold-out hometown shows at London’s Eventim Apollo), The Last Dinner Party’s arrival and subsequent worldwide success was one of the most thrilling introductions to a new British band in decades, and From The Pyre’s opening introduction suggests that unparalleled success story shows no signs of relenting.

“Catchy, relatable, with riffs in all the right places.”

- ANTIGRAVITY MAGAZINE

New Orleans, LA rock band Pope is excited to share their first new album in over eight years, BFM, available everywhere now via Houston’s tastemaking Rite Field Records. Channeling their characteristic blend of the melodic and the melancholy, songwriters Alejandro Skalany and Matt Seferian, along with bandmate and hometown friend Atticus Lopez, spin tales of optimism, grief, and growth across thirteen new tracks. BFM captures a band embracing a new era of life, equipped with their addictive, soaring riffs and lyrics that linger long after the record ends.

About the album release, Matt Seferian says, “This is our first big release in a while, and a lot of life has happened since the last one. We’ve grown up, we’ve moved, we’ve moved back, gotten married, broken up, lost friends and family, gained new friends too, and some of these songs predate COVID. It feels cathartic to finally let go of some of these songs and be able to take a step back and look at all of these moments in time and move on from them. It feels like starting over for us, too, in a lot of ways. Sonically, there are some sounds that longtime listeners will feel at home with, but we’ve also explored some new territory to show how we’ve grown as songwriters and music lovers. There’s a little bit of everything we love here.”

LISTEN TO BFM

A jampacked double single arrived last week in the form of the laid back “John Thomas” and optimistic “Sick Minute,” the latter of the songs featuring Julia Steiner from the Chicago band Ratboys. Both songs show off Pope’s emotional inclinations, portraying deep optimism and inspiration, even in moments of desperation and exhaustion. Melodic riffs tear through the tracks, with the band’s endlessly memorable lyrics anchoring the mood.

Last month, the band released “Make You Feel,” which is driven by hard-hitting drums and ringing guitars that emit frustration and grief. Vocal harmonies fill the spaces in between with chords that are wise, glimmering, and whole. A profound track, different sonic elements layer and coalesce to soundtrack the emotional complexity that comes with navigating loss. The song abruptly ends with audio from “from a legendary show hosted by our lost friend,” according to bandleader Matt Seferian. The sample plays like an allegory for both the shock that grief can bring and the legacy that a person can leave. The song was premiered via FLOOD Magazine, which described BFM as “seeing the group continue to balance grunge riffs and breezier elements of power-pop while tackling some of their most difficult lyrical themes.”

Earlier this year, Pope released “Newboi” with the announcement of BFM. Wielding undeniable hooks and catchy riffs, “Newboi” is a song that captures the frustration of being stuck in negative cycles: making the same mistakes over and over, but still, somehow, feeling unable to change.

BFM marks Pope’s first album since their 2017 album, True Talent Champion. The upcoming record finds the three-piece at their most experienced and locked in yet, an inward reckoning and a homecoming, tracing the band’s journey from their Houston beginnings to the community that shaped them in New Orleans. Opening with cycles of stagnation and self-doubt, the record gradually turns toward connection, resilience, and release, letting each song feel like a response to the last. Along the way, grief, community, and self-worth surface through warm melodies, lo-fi detours, and moments of raw vulnerability that reflect years of shared history between the three friends. Guided only by what feels honest, Pope sounds more patient and emotionally grounded than ever. Featuring vocals from Julia Steiner of Ratboys and keys from Tyler Scurlock of Sleigh Bells, BFM feels like the band returning to the place where it all began, carrying everything they’ve learned back to the moment friendship became a future.

Over the past decade, Pope has shared the stage with bands like They Are Gutting A Body of Water, Alex G, MJ Lenderman, Mitski, WednesdayMomma, and many more. On May 15, they’ll play No Dice in New Orleans, LA, with Aubrey Jane and Noa Jamir. More shows will be announced soon. Charlotte de Witte announces three brand new tracks in the form of her richly resonant EP ‘Amor’out now on her KNTXT imprint. The vinyl will include an additional Instrumental Mix of her track ‘O Movimento’.

‘Amor’ EP: each track features the breathy, full-toned vocals and Portuguese lyrics of CERES. The Brazilian singer, DJ & producer favours techno with tasty slices of UKG. Add to that, subtle motifs link the three tracks, giving the impression they form a suite. ‘This EP is inspired by my love for Portugal and Brazil, the country, the people, the food, the culture. Made with lots of amor.’ Charlotte de Witte

Title track ‘Amor’ (feat. CERES) delivers a galloping beat starred with spacey FX, as a hoover siren builds tension and CERES begins her rhyming chant. A sprinkle of acid becomes a sulphuric tidal wave. Next, ‘Sem Ar’ (feat. CERES): ‘Airless’; frantic rattling percussion overlays the fast beat to breakbeat-adjacent. CERES’ resonant voice is showcased in an acapella breakdown before her soulful voice becomes an acid robot’s, sharp and penetrating. Finally, ‘O Movimento’ (feat. CERES); ‘Movement/motion’, speeding beat with hi-hat backbeat duels with CERES’ voice, now sounding almost breathless, before acid filters in as the track builds.

New music, alongside massive global shows as de Witte’s 2026 global list of tour dates continues to bloom, including headlining Time Warp Brazil, EDC Las Vegas, We Love Green (Paris), Kappa Futur Festival, Awakenings, Sonar, UNVRS Ibiza, and more street parties in the making… There’s a lot to love for the year ahead.

Listen To The Bug Club’s New Single “A Good Day For Dying”

Listen To The Bug Club’s New Single “A Good Day For Dying”

Today, The Bug Club shares the humorously apathetic new single “A Good Day For Dying,” available now on all streaming services from Sub Pop.

The track is from Every Single Muscle, which is The Bug Club’s punkiest offering yet. It recalls both the short, sharp snaps of their very first singles and the grunt of recent releases. So packed is the album with wall-to-wall riffs and lyrical hooks rammed into tight confines that Sam actually asks permission to squeeze in a solo during “A Good Day for Dying.”

He’s given two seconds.

With regard to the lyricism, while Very Human Features did an excellent job of pointing at everyday things and highlighting their absurdity, on Every Single Muscle, The Bug Club looks more closely at themselves. Not so much in an introspective way, though. More in a way an alien might probe a captive specimen on an intergalactic gurney. Horror movies get their “body” subgenre; now, garage rock albums get theirs, too. Self-interested in an entirely new sense of the term, the human form and condition is prodded and inspected from every angle throughout the course of the album. “A Good Day For Dying” is another excellent example of this.

The Bug Club previously announced tour in support of Every Single Muscle begins Saturday, May 9th in Wrexham, UK at The Rockin’ Chair and currently runs through Friday, July 10th in Chicago, IL at Lincoln Hall. Please see a full list of dates below.

“a near-constant stream of two-minute rippers that blend musical urgency with wicked humour and big hooks.” [Every Single Muscle] UNCUT

“Welsh duo The Bug Club have become one of the most reliable DIY-style indie rock groups of the last few years, and the first single from their upcoming album Every Single Muscle does not disappoint. “Watching the Omnibus” is a patented Bug Club ripper that clocks in at just over a minute, packed with hooks and self-deprecating lyrics.” “Indie Basement: Best Songs & Albums of February 2026” - BROOKLYN VEGAN

PRAISE FOR ZOON

"In their brief yet prolific tenure as Zoon, the Toronto-based composer Daniel Monkman has reoriented shoegaze away from an insular, obfuscating aesthetic into a modern form of folk music—a vehicle through which they can tell their story, commune with friends, and catalog the human condition."
-Pitchfork

“The music arrives in dusty, amorphous gusts of sound — sometimes revealing a strummed acoustic guitar, sometimes swelling with tremolo strings, sometimes surrounding Monkman with high, delayed vocals — that make every perception sound fragile and precious.”
-The New York Times

"One Too Many Nights" feels like a fitting introduction to Happy Thoughts School, which seems to itself reframe a difficult time in Monkman's life by passing on the hard-won wisdom of how they got through it. Like any Zoon record, unsettling identity-formation processes remain at the core, but pop-forward melodies seeping in pay homage to a timeless shelter."
-Exclaim!

"Perhaps the first thing that strikes you about Daniel Monkman's music is the storytelling."
-The Fader

"With a hint of psychedelia and a plethora of prowess, Zoon immerses the listener in a world they can call their own, one built on the back of experimentation without alienating a single soul. There is an unpredictability to “One Too Many Nights” that keeps the listener coming back, with each listen revealing another layer of this single.  HAPPY THOUGHT SCHOOL is shaping up to be a landmark release for Zoon if this first single is any indication of what is to be expected. The artist raises the bar with a beautifully crafted, warping ballad that balances Zoon’s singularity with their infectious tendencies."
-Glide Magazine

"Zoon’s music is dreamy, atmospheric and beautifully incorporates traditional elements. There are superficial comparisons to My Bloody Valentine and Yo La Tengo, but Zoon’s sound is distinctively unique, gently psychedelic and highly emotional."
-Post-Punk

"...the experimental Anishinaabe musician weaves the past, present and future together into a symphony of sound, light and storytelling. The results are both moving and kaleidoscopic."
-CBC

"Monkman is the entity behind the atmospheric band Zoon, is on a journey to understand life’s complexities, and uses music to heal, learn, and evolve, all while staying true to being a two-spirit being and carrying on the rich heritage of the Anishinaabe people."
-Quip Mag

"Monkman was once a kid who kept their angst bottled up and tried to pass without notice. Now it’s difficult to look away from their joyful rebellion."
-Range

Last month, ZOON the Anishinaabe-Canadian shoegaze project returned with the announcement of their highly anticipated third long player, HAPPY THOUGHT SCHOOL out June 19, 2026 via Paper Bag Records.

Lead single, "One Too Many Nights" feat Sam Jr. (of Broken Social Scene) was met with critical acclaim, with Exclaim! noting that track, "embraces a grunge-pop bent on Zoon's career-defining moccasin-gaze sound," and Glide Magazine predicted that HAPPY THOUGHT SCHOOL will be a landmark release for the artist.

Today, ZOON shares, "I Was Younger," a triumphant and ethereal anthem centered on reflection, forgiveness, and self-compassion.

"I Was Younger is about the break up of two people who wanted the same thing but there was a force that just wouldn’t let it happen," ZOON shares.
"In those moments we try and try to make anything work, but in the end people fall in and out of love. This was my interpretation of something similar I went through as a young person.

They add, "I teamed up with Chris Chu of the 2010’s indie band called “The Morning Benders”. Their album Big Echo showed me that I wanted some of that pop and lo-fi influence."

On HAPPY THOUGHT SCHOOLZOON delivers their most emotionally forensic and compositionally expansive statement to date. The album refracts heartbreak, relapse, racial trauma, and spiritual recalibration through a cosmic moccasin-gaze pop, shaped by memory and tape hiss.

"I Was Younger" is out April 29th. HAPPY THOUGHT SCHOOL is out June 19th via Paper Bag Records.

ZOON BIO:

On HAPPY THOUGHT SCHOOL, ZOON delivers their most emotionally forensic and compositionally expansive statement to date. Releasing June 19, 2026 via Paper Bag Records, the album refracts heartbreak, relapse, racial trauma, and spiritual recalibration through a cosmic moccasin-gaze pop, shaped by memory and tape hiss. The title references their experiences at a school in East Selkirk, Manitoba, where despite its optimistic name they endured racism as one of the only Native students. Pop radio became refuge: early-2000s Top 20 hits blasting through headphones while they stood alone in a field. That contradiction joyful surface, painful sublayer defines the record’s architecture.
