HONEYBLOOD RELEASE COVER OF LIZ PHAIR'S "MESMERIZING" FOR ROOKIE
DEBUT ALBUM OUT NOW
HONEYBLOOD
Shona McVicar and Stina Tweeddale aka Honeyblood have just debuted this month's Rookie theme song, their take on Liz Phair's "Mesmerizing," which was produced by former Hole and Smashing Pumpkins bassist Melissa Auf der Maur. You can listen to the track and read an exclusive interview with the duo below.
Honeyblood released their self-titled debut album last month, receiving praise from critics at Pitchfork, Stereogum, BUST and more. Of the album, the New York Times wrote "Honeyblood is a bracing two piece...that specializes in a refreshing contrast of jangle and derision. They pair the melancholy guitars of early '90s shoe gaze with surf-rock tempo - the result is energetic, peppy hostility."
Honeyblood will play a run of dates in the UK this fall. Watch this space for more news..
