In its reissued form, Foreign Leisure will be releasing
My Daughter The Broad as a double LP for the first time ever. Pressed on random-colored vinyl (you won’t know what color it is until you open it up), it is available for preorder (along with some new Frogs merch) at
thefrogs1.bandcamp.com.
Beloved by Kurt Cobain, taken on tour by Pearl Jam, produced by Billy Corgan, sampled by Beck, among others, The Frogs formed in Milwaukee in 1980 by the Flemion brothers, Dennis (
drums/vocals) and Jimmy (
guitar/vocals) and built their underground acclaim through improvised home recordings and indie-adored live shows. In early 1988, they released their self-titled debut, which was followed with their classic
It's Only Right And Natural (1989). A host of equally pearl-clutchable EPs and albums, including the
Starjob EP in 1997 which was produced by Billy Corgan, soon added to their
oeuvre.
The Frogs continued making music until the tragic death of Dennis in 2012, and Jimmy has kept the flame alive with archival releases and the occasional tour. But aside from a 2019 vinyl reissue of
It’s Only Right and Natural, the Frogs’ catalog has been largely unavailable in any physical format—and demand is high (original vinyl copies of
My Daughter the Broad routinely sell for $150).
“Music has always been my saving grace,” concludes Jimmy. “It’s given me a purpose and a deep feeling of why I believe I’m here. The Frogs were always Dennis and me. It will never be the same again. No matter what, I will always continue to make music because it is in my soul and always will be.”
A feature-length documentary on the band has been in the works for nearly a decade, and will see the light of day soon.
My Daughter The Broad will be released on
September 11, 2026 via Foreign Leisure Records and can be preordered at
thefrogs1.bandcamp.com.
