The inexplicably ethereal vocals, reverberant and dreamy guitars, and gentle yet unwavering drum beats culminate in an iridescent kaleidoscope of sound reminiscent of rediscovering a forgotten magic. Teleporting to a transcendental ride through the ether is inevitable while listening to these unavoidably immersive seven tracks. The official music video for “locket” premieres today, capturing a dream-like foraging through beautiful nature and pockets of sunlight within one's mind.  “locket” is about the people we try to reach but can’t—the ones who keep their hearts closed off, refusing to open up even when a part of them might long to,” vocalist Zofia Smith says about “locket.” On the new EP, guitarist Liam Armstrong says, "Our third ep 'swallowtail' is an emergence. An explorative chapter that expands upon the previous two. It laments dreams and memories in the wake of a great transformation and marks a change in our approach to songwriting and recording. It is our first studio-recorded project and our biggest project yet." WATCH “LOCKET” LISTEN TO SWALLOWTAIL PURCHASE SWALLOWTAIL Back in February, the band channeled the distress of a grim world into hope with thunderous riffs on “mettle.” The single unfolds over a hazy wash of reverb-soaked guitars, where shimmering, textured riffs are anchored by driving drums. To herald the announcement swallowtail, the band shared “paper thin” in April. The song explores the connection between love and lust over soaring reverberation. As the track unravels, fragile tension builds with gauzy guitars and Zofia Smith’s melancholy vocals. Since then, she’s green have bestowed listeners with two more singles. In May, “empty house” premiered an official music video directed by the band. The video reflected the song by examining how life is in a constant state of ephemerality, ebbing and flowing as we grow. “empty house” opened with lo-fi, atmospheric guitar riffs, followed by velvety drums that let Zofia Smith’s vocals shine, creating an empathetic tone of self-discovery. In June, she’s green released “close your eyes”—a lush seven-minute soundscape that mirrors a descent into deep sleep, inspired by a recurring mystery figure in a dream.  To kick off 2026, she’s green made their debut in China, embarking on an entirely sold-out headlining run in January. The premiere of their debut KEXP session followed, which saw the band previewing the upcoming EP in a performance that DJ Cheryl Waters called “Absolutely beautiful.” NME and Alternative Press have also recently declared the five-piece a ‘Band to Watch,’ with the latter remarking, “You can always tell when a band favor control over spectacle, and that’s the case for she’s green. Their first project in over 2 years, the five songs perfectly capture their ethereal brand of dream pop, merging wistful vocals with fuzzed-out, harmonic guitars. ABOUT SHE’S GREEN Minneapolis band she’s green describe themselves as “moss music”. It’s music for wandering into the forest and getting lost there; for discovering magic forgotten deep in nature; for slowly shedding who you were before. “I always think about this experience I had as a kid, seeing a stump that was filled with moss. It gave me the feeling that there are smaller worlds,” says guitarist Liam Armstrong. Inspired as much by J.R.R. Tolkien and Hayao Miyazaki as by Slowdive and the Cocteau Twins, the band — consisting of Armstrong, Zofia Smith, Raines Lucas, Kevin Seebeck, and Teddy Nordvold — aim to create their own musical and visual world defined by dreamy fantasy, emotional openness,s and sonic depth. “I want it to feel like an escape,” Smith says. she’s green formed in 2022 in the Minneapolis college DIY scene. Smith and Armstrong lived together in a shared house, and bonded over the recording sessions they heard coming from each other’s bedrooms, before bringing she’s green to life in basement jam sessions and beginning to gig prolifically around the Twin Cities. In 2023, they released their debut EP, Wisteria, which included the viral hit “Mandy” — now boasting over three million Spotify listens. After graduating from college, she’s green started to hit the road, heading all over North America with the likes of Slow Pulp, Softcult, and Glixen, and all the while accumulating an increasingly devoted fanbase.  In February 2025, she’s green announced their signing to Photo Finish Records, and in August, released their second EP, Chrysalis. Recorded in part with Slow Pulp’s Henry Stoehr, it builds on the shimmering shoegaze and dream-pop of Wisteria, with ever more irresistible melodies and deeper songcraft. Ranging from the heavy, driving breakdown of “Graze” to the acoustic guitar-driven sway of “Silhouette”, the band created more collaboratively than ever and remained open to following every instinct. “We wanted to expand the scope of what we did with the first EP, and see how far we could push either side of the music — whether it’s harsh and jarring or it’s inviting and warm,” Armstrong says. Smith expands: “We’re really trying to listen closely to what the song’s personality is. I almost think of songs as like people; I’m like, what do you wanna be? Who are you?”  Not content to rest, she’s green ended 2025 by recording their follow-up EP, Swallowtail, that will form the second half of a full-length, and heading overseas for the first time for a UK tour in support of Softcult. As they win over shoegaze devotees old and new everywhere they go with their authentic, loving approach to their sound, it’s clear that this huge year for she’s green is only the beginning. Like mist in the forest, mysterious and enveloping, she’s green welcome you in.
