Today, Baby Jane holds out her hand to welcome listeners into the darkness of Winter Forever, her sophomore album out today via Terem. The rising independent electronic artist carving her own path in the shadows of EDM presents her newest offering: a surrender to rhythm, to movement, to the body dissolving inside sound that draws from Russian pop classics and the raw micro scenes of internet-born bedroom hardstyle. It is the flickering apartment light in the blue hour of a brutalist city, a quiet signal of life against concrete vastness. It inhabits cold surrealism and ethereal horror, mirroring the glimmering melancholy at its core.

The electronic artist also shares her favorite song on the album, "One Night In Berlin", an ascendant headbanger that honors the legacy of 90s dance classics and the stronghold dance music has in culture. Baby Jane spoke of the track: "I think 'winter 4ever' is the head of the album, but this song is the heart. Maybe 'Midnight Highway' is the curve of the lower back."
"It’s about my experience in Berlin dancing in Berghain," she added, "and the place that dance music holds in culture — how the physical catharsis serves people in their lives." Inspired by her life as a DJ, club-goer, and underground dance pop artist, she finds great comfort in the darkness of the club, seeing an exhilarating night out as "the only thing that helps you cope with heartbreak and loneliness."

"An album that I started with the intention of expressing loneliness morphed into an album of escape and personal freedom," says Baby Jane on Winter Forever. Allowing herself to push her creativity literally into new worlds — developing her own voice in the ethereal-meets-synthwave EDM microgenre known as "angelcore" — she has sketched a new universe with occult symbols, coven lore, surrealist horror, abandoned concrete buildings, pixelated video games, and desolate fields. It thrives in paradox, introversion, and escapism.

Throughout the summer, Baby Jane's innovation in the angelcore scene has captured the hearts of many. Her music is romantic, entrancing, and hypnotic, "transforming [Baby Jane] from underground favorite into one of the most compelling new voices in electronic music," per Mundane Magazine. Recent singles have been highlighted in Rolling Stone, NPR, OfficialCharts, The LUNA Collective, The Line Of Best Fit, and more. "What makes Baby Jane such an imaginative creator," Office Magazine wrote, "is her open indulgence in fantasy and wistfulness, with love being the bottom line of everything."
