Photo credit: Ida Fiskaa Norwegian artist Susanna Wallumrød is the creator of bold, original and enrapturing music, capable of building worlds to lose yourself in and collaborator with artists and ensembles like American Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy and the contemporary music ensemble Oslo Sinfonietta. She has an open approach to genres, and often with her own voice as the center of her musical expression. 2026 has seen her various live concepts, in duos, trio and band-format in concerts in Norway. which has included Meditations on Love from 2024 and her brand new project based on and inspired by Hildegard of Bingen (1098-1179).  This year, Susanna's independent record label, SusannaSonata, celebrates its 15th anniversary, marking a decade and a half of creative autonomy by releasing three brand-new albums that feature and honour the specific artists she deeply loves to listen to; the experimental vocal duo Propan with tape queen Stina Stjern ‘Shrew’, Norwegian explorative saxophonist Espen Reinertsen’s electronica album ‘Venus er i håret’ and Susanna’s old partner in Susanna and the Magical Orchestra Morten Qvenild’s second solo album ‘Lokalt Piano’.  Susanna is also celebrating with the release of a series of live videos from her recent album 'Meditations on Love’ alongside songs by Sandy Denny and Joy Division. Her boundary-pushing output has earned her major industry accolades, including four Spellemannprisen awards (Norwegian Grammys) in the Open Class category and the prestigious EDVARD Prize as a composer. A prolific collaborator, Susanna has recorded highly experimental, deeply expressive works alongside avant-garde vocalist Jenny Hval, baroque harpist Giovanna Pessi, and contemporary ensemble Ensemble neoN. With over 20 years as an artist and nineteen albums so far, Susanna Wallumrød is fronting high quality and an adventurous approach in her work.
