Today, New York City electronic trio Public Circuit release Modern Church r//mix//s, the reworked version of their latest album. For the remixes, they recruited friends and fellow heavyweights of the Brooklyn music scene including Lip Critic, shower curtain, Grumpy, The Wants, smush, ideasforconversations and Crate — Stream.  The band shared, “We wanted to put out the remixes to not only highlight all our amazing friends who make amazing music, but also to revive these songs into all the different worlds we believe they belong to exist in.”  Vocalist Ethan Biamont added that, “this album is a representation of the music and people that I love and am inspired by in Brooklyn. All of these acts push their respective genres forward and that’s awesome, but we need to remember what it’s all about: loving electronic music.” Ahead of the release of the remix album, Public Circuit released their own remix of their favorite song from Modern Church, “Damager.” Built for an industrial dance club, the remix is no fat and all electronic synth muscle.

On Modern Church, the band dismantles and reassembles post-punk with surgical precision. Gone is any pretense of retro revivalism—what remains is something sharper, darker and entirely their own.
