(March 6, 2026) - Dominican-American artist María Isabel shares a new song from her forthcoming debut full-length today with “Suiza”. The new track is produced by Grammy award-winning producer El Guincho (Charli xcx, Rosalía, FKA twigs) and accompanied by an ode to María’s roots in the Dominican Republic and its culture in the form of a captivating new music video directed by Olivia de Camps.
“Suiza” further defines the sound María is exploring on her next project, rooted in her upbringing as a Dominican-American woman in New York City who was immersed in the global sounds of the city. Her work with El Guincho centers on her growing confidence as an artist and the creative realizations that come with travel and lived experience. With her next body of work, María set out to embody the character and musicality that comes from her formative homes, New York City and the Dominican Republic. Individually, María’s two new singles widen the aperture of her musical output with a similar duality. “Suiza” ratchets up the tempo as a radiant dembow track.
María first introduced the new musical chapter she’s been honing with El Guincho last Fall, hinting at it with a social media clip for “Sunset Tower”, and her lead single “Bien Bien”, which Remezcla praised as “a powerful statement about María Isabel’s roots…and the perfect soundtrack to blast while glamorously tearing up the floor". Today, “Sunset Tower” is now being officially released on streaming platforms as part of a three track bundle that includes “Bien Bien” and new single “Suiza”.
María’s next project is a bold evolution of the soul-bearing R&B she first introduced herself with in 2021 through a pair of EPs, Stuck in the Sky and her subsequent follow-up i hope you’re very unhappy without me. The two projects collectively captured the attention of Rolling Stone, Vogue, Pigeons & Planes, Wonderland and NYLON, who praised the vulnerability and incisive nature of her songwriting in both English and Spanish.
Check out “Suiza” as part of the new song bundle above and stay tuned for more details on María’s imminent new full length. |
