Today, powerhouse singer and guitarist Lindsey Troy – best known as one half of the acclaimed LA rock duo Deap Vally, who made their mark with blistering riffs and riotous energy – shares her latest solo single, “Love Is Deeper” via her Little Treehouse Records imprint. She is also set to headline School Night on Thursday, January 29th in Los Angeles, presented by KCRW and MakeOutMusic. Get tickets HERE and listen to the gorgeous new track here: https://ditto.fm/love-is-deeper.

Written by Troy and co-produced with John Stavas, Lindsey notes, “‘Love is Deeper’ is a song about deep, unconditional love. About intergenerational trauma and complex family dynamics. I sing about sacred childhood memories that are the backdrop of my life— the blissful memories of my youth that I hold so dear. But I also sing about painful memories that are part of my life’s mural. This song is about the reverberating impact of mental illness on a family. About blood being thicker than pain. About empathy. About saying my piece and letting go of my anger to forgive and heal.

“Love Is Deeper” follows Lindsey’s debut solo single “I’ve Seen The Willow Trees – a track that reveals a softer power, blending her unmistakable voice and emotional depth with an earthy, organic soundscape. The song received major radio support from BBC Radio 6, KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic, KLOS’ Heidi and Frank, The SoCal Sound’s L.A. Buzz Bands, Australia’s Triple R, and more. On going solo, Troy expands, “Fiercely loyal in my nature and a true band monogamist, I never felt compelled to make a solo record during the over-a-decade Deap Vally was actively making records and road-dogging it around the globe. But after having broken up over a year ago, I finally felt the calling, and had the words, the drive, and the courage to take the solo plunge. The music is better than I ever could have anticipated, and to get to record it in my home, with my husband, while my children slept soundly through the noise, was the icing on the cake. To carry everything I’ve learned with Deap Vally, and to get to take that wisdom, and rebirth myself as an artist—to reflect where I currently am in life now—has been profoundly rewarding, fiercely liberating, and a truly empowering experience. Art always finds a way.”

About Lindsey Troy

Lindsey Troy is a singer, songwriter and guitarist best known as one half of the electrifying rock duo Deap Vally, who made the decision to split last year, but not before setting out on a final, jubilant farewell tour, with shows across the UK, Europe and North America. Known for their raw, blues-infused garage rock sound and fierce feminist energy, Deap Vally gained attention with their debut album Sistrionix (2013), featuring singles including “End of the World” and “Walk of Shame,” and went on to release two further acclaimed full-length LPs (Femejism in 2016 and 2021’s Marriage). Over the years, Deap Vally toured internationally with artists including Blondie, Garbage, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Muse, and collaborated extensively, including on a full length LP release with The Flaming Lips (as Deap Lips). With her solo debut, Troy now turns inward, exploring themes of nature, family, and transformation with poetic honesty and emotional resonance.
