“CATCH AND RELEASE” LISTEN: https://groupspeed.lnk.to/catchandrelease
(July 16, 2025) - Alice Glass shares her first offering of 2025 with the new single “CATCH AND RELEASE.” “CATCH AND RELEASE” follows the 2024 collaborative track “REMAINS” with CLIP and Glass’ cover of The Smashing Pumpkins “Drown.”
Speaking about the track, Alice shares, “‘CATCH AND RELEASE’ feels like the sharp panic of falling under ice — that trapped, choking anxiety disguised as something nice. The only way out is to move, bounce, dance through it before it seeps in and eats you alive. It’s confrontation disguised as fun — chants that sound like release but are really just reflections of obsession and rot.”
Alice Glass is one of the most recognizable and singular voices in electronic music, first rising to prominence in the late 2000s as the frontwoman of Crystal Castles. With a sound that blurred the lines between noise, pop, and punk, she helped define an era—earning widespread acclaim from Pitchfork, NME (John Peel Award for Innovation), and a global cult following. Known for her ability to move between an eerie lilt and an unrelenting roar, Glass brought a raw, physical energy to stages around the world and helped shape the visual and sonic landscape of a generation.
Since departing the band in 2014 and publicly speaking out about the abuse she endured, Glass has reemerged on her own terms - as a solo artist, a sought-after DJ, and a symbol of artistic resilience. Her 2022 debut album PREY//IV cemented her as a powerful force in her own right, and in 2025, she returns with new music and unexpected collaborations that push even further beyond genre and expectation.
