The Lemon Twigs Release 2024 LP A Dream Is All We Know

The Lemon Twigs Release 2024 LP A Dream Is All We Know

Announce Massive, 30 Date Headlining US Fall Tour That Includes NYC Webster Hall + LA Belasco Theatre, New EU/UK Dates Added

Today, Michael and Brian D'Addario — the NYC sibling duo best known as The Lemon Twigs — release their 2024 LP, A Dream Is All We Knowon Captured Tracks. Listen to the full album, out now, including focus track “Peppermint Roses”, the Twigs’ take on British Invasion, here: https://lemontwigs.ffm.to/adreamisallweknow.opr

In the leadup to today’s highly anticipated release, The Lemon Twigs have been described as “remarkably inventive… harmonically unlike anything that’s come before them” by Michael McDonald on Rick Beato’s show, celebrated by Questlove for going “full Debarge” on their 2023 LP Everything Harmony, performed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, shared their pick for a perfect 10 record for Pitchfork, chatted with FLAUNT, and played “My Golden Years” and “How Can I Love Her More?” on WNYC All Of It, who praised the tracks for their “masterful pastiche”. The band also has forthcoming reviews and features confirmed with FLOOD, Switched On Pop, Brooklyn Magazine, Discogs, and more.

The Lemon Twigs have also announced a massive, 30 date headlining tour this fall. The run of shows include some of their biggest US venues to date: NYC’s Webster Hall (1,500 cap) and LA’s Belasco Theatre (1,000 cap). The fall tour follows summer dates across the Southeastern US and a leg in the EU, full dates below.

Recorded completely to tape and mixed and mastered by Brian and Michael themselves on of-the-era equipment, A Dream Is All We Know explores the timeless tropes of the Lennon-McCartney songbook — including the most explicit example yet, with co-production on “In The Eyes Of The Girl” by Sean Ono Lennon — the skyrocketing harmonies of the Wilson family, and a slew of other 1968 influences from The Move, to Big Star, The Raspberries, The Byrds, The Left Banke, and many, many more.

With cheeky power pop anthems (“My Golden Years”) — which the brothers debuted on Fallon — whimsical nods to unrealized romantic relationships (“They Don’t Know How To Fall Into Place”), and theatrical epics (“A Dream Is All I Know”) alike, A Dream Is All We Know demonstrates the acute perfectionism the brothers have in making their music, and what scholars they have become of their sound and the history behind it. And while their classicist pop-rock creates the illusion that they rubbed shoulders with the golden rock greats, The Lemon Twigs have collaborated with everyone from Weyes Blood to Tim Heidecker, stages shared with Phoenix, Bleachers, Arctic Monkeys, and their musical hero Todd Rundgren, and received praise from Elton John, The Zombies, Gerard Way, Iggy Pop and more — cementing themselves visionary songwriters and arrangers whose oeuvre is itself a source of inspiration to other artists.
