MIT STUDY SHOWS #IVOTED FESTIVAL HIGHLY INCREASES VOTER TURNOUT ON ELECTION DAY BY TAPPING INTO TOP TRENDING ARTISTS IN EACH STATE |
#iVoted Festival, whose 2020 inaugural Mandolin-hosted webcast was the largest digital concert in history, is back today with their live election night webcast featuring shows with Run The Jewels, Billie Eilish, Rise Against, CNCO and more - see full list of bands below. Fans RSVP with a selfie from outside their polling places to see 300+ performances and appearances for free. Underage fans RSVP by letting #iVoted Festival know what election they will be 18 for and why they're excited to vote. Non-citizens and ineligible voters RSVP by letting the non-partisan voter turnout group know which artist they're most excited to check out. M.I.T. has analyzed #iVoted Festival’s work showing the event increases voter turnout by over 7%, whereas “get out the vote” drives historically do so by 0.5-1%. The group credits this increase to their data-driven methods of booking artists using Chartmetric to source the top trending Spotify and Instagram artists in key states. Starting at 4 p.m. ET on November 8th, attendees can tune into a variety of stages featuring the top trending artists in key states whose electoral margins are often decided by the size of a venue. Stages include Vinylly Desert, Lyte Michigan, WNOV For Wisconsin (in partnership with Justin Vernon of Bon Iver’s For Wisconsin non-profit), Music Midtown & Well-Dunn Georgia, National Independent Venue Foundation, Live Nation Women, Wasserman x HeadCount, Girls Rock Asheville Southeast, idobi Network & JBTV, Hear Here Presents, TxLips, Bayou Mountain, in addition to Arizona, Pennsylvania, Florida, Northeast, Ohio, and Texas stages. The 6-hour festival wraps at 10 p.m. ET with #iVoted Festival re-broadcasting the event for 24 hours following Election Day to accommodate any fans voting last minute or stuck in line. This also mitigates any “competing” sets to ensure fans can check out all of the artists and talent they want while celebrating voting. Says #iVoted Festival Founder and CEO Emily White, “Our team has been working on this event since January. We’re ecstatic to see it not only come to fruition but that fans have already been RSVP-ing by entering our first ever #iVoted Early Sweepstakes. This gives them the opportunity to win tickets to 600 Live Nation, AEG Presents, ASM Global and independent shows, an #iVoted Gibson Guitar, 666 cans of Liquid Death and more. As all entries are RSVP’d for #iVoted Festival’s 2022 webcast, this ensures we’re getting folks to turnout and vote as early as possible. We are eternally grateful to our stage and sweepstakes partners’ generosity, time, effort, and passion for increasing voter turnout.” #iVoted Festival’s election night webcast features “A Conversation with W. Kamau Bell & Tom Morello,” appearances by Billie Eilish, Steph Curry, Eugene Mirman, Seth Godin, VINCINT, Taylor Bennett, Piper Perabo, Beauty School Dropout, Olympic skateboarder Heimana Reynolds with performances by Run the Jewels (Holy Calamavote TV concert rebroadcast), CNCO, Rise Against, OK Go, Lake Street Dive, Los Lobos, The Revivalists, Shakey Graves, Carl Craig, Em Beihold, The Black Angels, The Range, Bully, Umphrey's McGee, DeVotchKa, 3OH!3, Black Stone Cherry, El Trono De Mexico, La Bouche, Richard Marx, Jaret Reddick of Bowling for Soup, Twiztid and The Suffers MILCK x Autumn Rowe, Filter, Local H, Post Animal, Dead Sara and more with 300+ artists confirmed for the November 8th event. The full lineup, set times and stages are available HERE: https://ivotedfestival.org ABOUT #iVOTED FESTIVAL #iVoted Festival increases voter turnout by producing record-breaking webcasts and activating entertainment venues to let fans in who show a selfie from outside their polling place or at home with a blank and unmarked ballot. Young people in the U.S. are more likely to attend live music events (63% millennials) than vote (35.6% for 18-29). #iVoted bridges this gap by meeting potential voters where they are as a data-driven organization that books the top trending artists and talent in key states whose electoral margins are often decided by the size of a concert venue. With a majority BIPOC C-Suite of 100% women and overall team that's 92% BIPOC, women, non-binary or LGBTQ+, #iVoted Festival is revolutionizing voter turnout while actively training and mentoring the next generation of activists and leaders.
