Download Hi-Res Image   Today Brooklyn, NY-based indie pop band Daisy the Great release their sophomore album, ALL YOU NEED IS TIME, available via S-Curve/Hollywood Records at all DSPs and streaming services HERE. Recorded in Brooklyn by rising producer/engineer Torna, with additional production from Gabe Goodman and Daisy the Great drummer Matti Dunietz, ALL YOU NEED IS TIME both tops off a long summer of festival shows and ignites an extensive North American tour with The Happy Fits that extends through the rest of 2022. From the band:   “This album, ‘All You Need Is Time’, means everything to us. It has been years in the making and we are so excited to be finally sharing the whole collection of songs with the world. Writing these songs was a huge part of processing our lives over the past few years, and learning about who we are and who we want to be. The record is about self-perception, love, growing up, patience, purpose, change. We eventually started pairing these songs together for the album and saw a thread between them, capturing the dichotomy of feeling time slipping through your fingers while you’re waiting for your life to start. We recorded the album at Studio G in Brooklyn, NY in the winter during the pandemic. It was recorded at a time when we all really didn’t know what the future held, and this project felt like we were able to pour everything that we had into it. We were so lucky to be able to collaborate with our best friends on building this record and we are so proud to be putting it out into the world.”   Concurrent with the album release comes an official music video for the song “Time Machine” streaming now via YouTube HERE. On the video, the band says:   “The Time Machine music video, directed by Scott Felix, is a time bending adventure movie set in multiple worlds and featuring some very beloved home videos from our childhoods. In the story, we’re working at an old gas station when ~somehow~ another Kelley and Mina show up in a red Ford Bronco that has been transformed into a time machine. The song in general is about the potential to go back and have a second chance at your life. It’s about fate, regret, love, loss, perspective, change, growing up, etc. Our dads both passed away when we were 5 and 6 years old, respectively, so for us, the possibility of being able to go back in time to visit someone that isn’t here anymore really connected us to that feeling of longing for the power to control time. Not only are we longing, more generally, to be able fix a mistake or choose a different path, but we are longing for that sense of innocence and love and promise that we had as kids. We also included footage with our sweet moms who raised us and taught us to sing. We wanted the video to be a wake up for our adult selves, as well as a love letter to our younger selves.
