Limited Concert Tickets On Sale Now at NoisePopFest.com --

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (February 1, 2022) - Local organizers behind Noise Pop Festival have just unveiled their alternative programming schedule as the San Francisco Bay Area’s premier independent music and arts festival returns for its 29th year on February 21-27, 2022. Although all badge options have sold out in record time, tickets to previously announced music concerts and newly revealed supplemental events are all on sale at noisepopfest.com.

On pace to be one of the Festival’s most diverse and discovery-driven music lineups to date, the current 2022 billing features notable music acts from the Bay Area and far beyond including Azealia Banks, Jeff Tweedy, Alex G, The Microphones, Dorian Electra, and King Woman, plus the North American festival stage debut for HE.SHE.THEY and a 4-part concert series in partnership with SFJAZZ, among many others.

In addition to these talented music performers and the 100+ other music acts previously added to the lineup, the week-long festival will also feature a full slate of auxiliary events for fans to explore the city including an official pre-party at Cal Academy, daily happy hours at Bender’s, film screenings, and so much more.

This year’s festivities will kick off with an Official Festival Pre-Party at Cal Academy NightLife on Thursday, February 17 from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. The adults-only Nightlife party will include a special performance from UK producer and musician Kamaal Williams, who most recently played in SF at the 2019 edition of Noise Pop Festival.

Sierra Nevada will also be adding two additional pre-festival parties to the schedule, including a concert at Bottom of the Hill with local favorites Carpool Tunnel as well as a free Sunday afternoon show in Zeitgeist’s outdoor beer garden.

That coming Sunday, February 20 marks the start of the retrospective show at Amado's (998 Valencia St San Francisco, CA 94110) meant to commemorate local artist Lil Tuffy and concert photographer Paige Parson’s 20th anniversary in the Bay Area. The opening night event will run from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. with tunes from DJ Lance Walden and limited-edition posters and photographers from their archives.

Shortly thereafter, the always-popular Happy Hours at Bender’s will return to offer free music performances and discounted drink specials beginning Tuesday, February 22 through Saturday, February 26. Each day will feature a different presenter including DoTheBay & San Franpsycho, Fast Times, BFF.fm and Twin Peak Sessions, Talent Moat, and Bender’s.

Each happy hour will take place at the legendary Bender’s Bar & Grill (806 S Van Ness Ave, San Francisco, CA 94110) from 5 to 8 p.m. PT. Entry to any of the Happy Hour events is free for fans (21+ only) who RSVP in advance via schedule.noisepopfest.com

Purchasers of a festival badge will also be able to attend an exclusive Opening Night Happy Hour on Monday, February 21 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Phoenix Hotel presented by DICE, the music-discovery and ticketing platform that has transformed how fans discover and buy tickets to live events all over the world.

Additionally, Noise Pop is reviving its beloved film program for the 2022 festival, which will include a variety of music-focused screenings with several Bay Area premieres. The festival’s film schedule begins with the West Coast premiere on Monday, February 21 of “This Is GWAR”, a new film that offers a peek behind the curtain of the intergalactic barbarian metal legends; followed by a 10-year anniversary showing of the LCD Soundsystem-inspired “Shut Up and Play the Hits” on Wednesday; a Thursday night screening of “Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure” with opening music performances from local bands Thunder Boys and Shutups; and a chance on Friday to catch ”Keyboard Fantasies” an intimate look at electronic music trailblazer and queer icon Beverly Glenn-Copeland.
