New Album, That Spell, Out August 6th Who: Lincoln, Nebraska singer-songwriter Andrea von Kampen whose album That Spell  is out August 6th on Fantasy Records has released a music video for her single “Take Back Thy Gift.”   Directed By: The track’s evocative video clip was directed by noted filmmaker Alexander Jeffrey who also directed the indie-film, Molto Bella in which von Kampen also stars and wrote the soundtrack.  From: New album That Spell out August 6th via Fantasy Records Quote from Andrea von Kampen: ““Take Back Thy Gift” was the first video we shot for my new album and we wanted to set the tone from the start with earthy, nature filled shots that reflected the song and the album. Due to the pandemic, we couldn’t shoot indoors, or with other people, or even travel to different locations easily. So we picked a spot far away from other people in a corn field and decided to shoot the whole thing in one take. We practiced the timing and then had a thirty minute window to get the shot before it was too dark."

Though she didn’t ultimately land the prize, she was named as one of the top ten entries, and in the process netted a whole new fanbase. Since then, she’s released a number of EP’s, singles and a self-released debut and found great success with film and television placements due to her intimate and cinematic music. At Fantasy Records, she joins some of her greatest heroes such as Paul Simon and James Taylor and contemporary artists like Nathaniel Rateliff, Valerie June, Natalie Hemby and more.  The Nebraska-raised singer-songwriter is a formidable talent with her deeply felt folk-indebted sound and inquisitive, empathetic lyrics. Andrea excels at connecting the dots between personal experience and the world at large. Her journey so far has been a life immersed by music. The youngest of four children raised in a musical family, Andrea and her siblings all learned instruments as she started playing guitar at a young age. “Music was just what we did,” she remembers. And more music from Andrea von Kampen is on its way later this year.
