Last year, Frances Quinlan (they/them) of Hop Along released Likewise, their debut under their own name, via Saddle Creek. The album earned mass critical acclaim, including 2020 year-end nods from publications such as Rolling Stone, NPR Music, The FADER, Stereogum and Consequence of Sound, and topped the Billboard charts as the #1 Top Alternative New Artist Album, Top 10 at College Radio, #5 Top New Artist Album, #9 Current Alternative Album, #13 Record Label Independent Current Album, #13 Current Rock Album, and many more.
This week is the one-year anniversary of the stunning, singular album, and to celebrate Frances is sharing two new remixes. Likewise Remixes come courtesy of Chicago’s NNAMDÏ, who remixed the single “Now That I’m Back,” while Frances’s Quarter-Life Crisis collaborator Ryan Hemsworth takes on the deep cut “Lean.” Quinlan says of the release: "I am a big fan of the work of NNAMDÏ and Ryan Hemsworth. Both are incredibly inventive composers and players. I was fortunate that they were available and interested in remixing two tracks off of my record (now released 1 year ago). Upon first listening, I was immediately floored and delighted by what they've each created. How cool to hear a song I wrote be completely transformed into an entirely new story. Pure magic."
