July 23, 2019 – San Francisco, CA – At Outside Lands, the music festival where foodie dreams manifest, it is only right that there is a stage devoted to outrageous and delicious mash-ups between food, drink, comedy and music. Enter GastroMagic, which in its sixth year, continues to innovate not just the festival space, but also the food space. Outside Lands takes place in San Francisco’s historic Golden Gate Park August 9-11, 2019. A limited number of tickets are available via www.sfoutsidelands.com. A link to festival publicity photos is here; a link to GastroMagic photos is here.

In revealing the three-day GastroMagic lineup, Outside Lands is also excited to announce the country’s leading food brand, Bon Appétitas a Curating Stage Partner. On Saturday, August 10th, Editor-in-Chief Adam Rapoport, and Senior Editors and Test Kitchen Stars Molly Baz and Andy Baraghaniwill share their culinary talents and take the stage in their GastroMagic debut.

Also joining GastroMagic are two of L.A.’s most beloved female chefs: Jessica Koslow, Chef/Owner of Sqirl and James Beard Nominee for Best Chef: West, and Susan Feniger, chef, restaurateur, cookbook author, and radio and TV personality. Feniger will generously donate her time and performance fee to The Los Angeles LGBT Center, of which she sits on the board.
Making festival history, Counting Crows frontman Adam Duritz will be a triple threat at Outside Lands – he will perform on one of the main stages with The Counting Crows, hop on the GastroMagic stage, and bring his Napa-Valley based winery Elyse to Wine Lands.
In keeping with Outside Lands’ celebration of the Bay Area, GastroMagic continues to spotlight a number of incredible local chefs and restaurants; these include Brenda’s French Soul Food, now a Sunday Outside Lands ritual for those in the know, Rich Table, a Michelin-starred restaurant which has delighted festival goers with its Porcini Doughnuts year after year, and Chris Cosentino of Cockscomb

While fans are highly encouraged to get carried away with GastroMagic’s revelry, absurdity and culinary wonderment, the experience is that much richer if they appreciate that this stage never fails to give everyone from female chefs to transgender artists to sex positive rappers to drag queen performers the chance to shine.
A selection of the GastroMagic 2019 lineup is as follows; additional details and set times will be shared closer to the festival.
FRIDAY AUGUST 9, 2019

SATURDAY, AUGUST 10, 2019

Back-to-Back Chef with Bon Appétit's Molly Baz and Ella Mai
In a live rendition of Bon Appétit's cult YouTube show "Back-to-Back Chef," Test Kitchen star Molly Baz challenges singer/songwriter Ella Mai to keep up with her as they cook a dish in 15 minutes. Except there's one little caveat: Ella can’t watch what Molly's doing. Bon Appétit's Editor-in-Chief Adam Rapoport emcees the battle.
Slurpers with Bon Appétit's Andy Baraghani and CupcakKe
Rapper CupcakKe calls her fans Slurpers, so we're going to give her fans what they want: recipes for all things slurpable, from the mind of Bon Appétit Test Kitchen star Andy Baraghani. Bon Appétit's Editor-in-Chief Adam Rapoport will emcee.

Jessica Koslow and Big Wild with Bon Appétit's Adam Rapoport
Is there anything more Sqirl than serving breakfast for dinner? L.A. phenomenon Jessica Koslow will lead Big Wild through a "jam" session (the kind you eat) of her famous Sqirl Jams and other creations from the LA staple. This set will close out with a performance from Big Wild and tastings for the audience. Bon Appétit’s Editor-in-Chief Adam Rapoport will emcee.

The Bon Appétit Test Kitchen Live with Jimmy O. Yang
Bon Appétit's Editor-in-Chief, Adam Rapoport, and Test Kitchen stars Andy Baraghani and Molly Baz are joined by Silicon Valley's Jimmy O. Yang to create a dish of epic proportions. This will be an Outside Lands–sized creation to share with the world—or at least the audience.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 11, 2019

Beignets and Bounce Brunch with Brenda's and Katey Red
An Outside Lands tradition, the Sunday ritual of beignets and bounce is a celebration of all things New Orleans: Bounce music and fluffy beignets. Get ready to work and twerk in a flurry of powdered sugar and dough with Katy Redd and Brenda's Soul Food.

Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals and Special Guest
Join Anderson. Paak and a soon-to-be-announced special guest as they walk through a culinary demo followed by a performance from The Free Nationals.
Michael Solomonov and Cherry Glazerr
Michael Solomonov of Zahav, which was named Outstanding Restaurant at the 2019 James Beard Awards, and other hit Philly restaurants will join forces with American rock band and noted grilled cheese enthusiasts, Cherry Glazerr for a special vegan creation.

Puddles Pity Party & Souvla Throw a Pita Party
The Sad Clown with the golden voice and Tony Cervone of SF's Souvla are going to throw a Pita Party. We've been waiting for the right clown to grace the GastroMagic stage, and it will be hard to frown with Tony's pitas and Puddles' baritone.
