July 23, 2019 – San Francisco, CA – At Outside Lands, the music festival where foodie dreams manifest, it is only right that there is a stage devoted to outrageous and delicious mash-ups between food, drink, comedy and music. Enter GastroMagic, which in its sixth year, continues to innovate not just the festival space, but also the food space. Outside Lands takes place in San Francisco’s historic Golden Gate Park August 9-11, 2019. A limited number of tickets are available via www.sfoutsidelands.com. A link to festival publicity photos is here; a link to GastroMagic photos is here.
In revealing the three-day GastroMagic lineup, Outside Lands is also excited to announce the country’s leading food brand, Bon Appétit, as a Curating Stage Partner. On Saturday, August 10th, Editor-in-Chief Adam Rapoport, and Senior Editors and Test Kitchen Stars Molly Baz and Andy Baraghaniwill share their culinary talents and take the stage in their GastroMagic debut.
Also joining GastroMagic are two of L.A.’s most beloved female chefs: Jessica Koslow, Chef/Owner of Sqirl and James Beard Nominee for Best Chef: West, and Susan Feniger, chef, restaurateur, cookbook author, and radio and TV personality. Feniger will generously donate her time and performance fee to The Los Angeles LGBT Center, of which she sits on the board.
Making festival history, Counting Crows frontman Adam Duritz will be a triple threat at Outside Lands – he will perform on one of the main stages with The Counting Crows, hop on the GastroMagic stage, and bring his Napa-Valley based winery Elyse to Wine Lands.
In keeping with Outside Lands’ celebration of the Bay Area, GastroMagic continues to spotlight a number of incredible local chefs and restaurants; these include Brenda’s French Soul Food, now a Sunday Outside Lands ritual for those in the know, Rich Table, a Michelin-starred restaurant which has delighted festival goers with its Porcini Doughnuts year after year, and Chris Cosentino of Cockscomb.
While fans are highly encouraged to get carried away with GastroMagic’s revelry, absurdity and culinary wonderment, the experience is that much richer if they appreciate that this stage never fails to give everyone from female chefs to transgender artists to sex positive rappers to drag queen performers the chance to shine.
A selection of the GastroMagic 2019 lineup is as follows; additional details and set times will be shared closer to the festival.
