San Francisco indie-pop band Curls, fronted by Christopher Owens, has announced a string of East Coast tour dates kicking off this Wednesday (12/12) in NYC. Marking the band's East Coast debut, the tour finds Owens fresh from showing his visual art at the Miami Super Fine Art Fair at Art Basel.
Curls is Christopher Owens, drummer Cody Rhodes, bassist Luke Baće, and guitarist Derek Barber, a formation that Owens has referred to as his “first real band." Their latest EP, Vante, was released last year on Urban Scandal Records, following two Girls LPs and three solo LPs from Owens. Pitchfork called the EP " the most lavish-sounding Owens offering since the last gasps of Girls, brimming with rippling percussion and smears of sunset-pink synth."
