“Eleanor Friedberger has set herself apart as one of indie rock’s sharpest narrators. With “Rebound,” her fourth solo LP, Ms. Friedberger swerves toward New Romantic balladry, with echoes of the ’80s goth disco in Greece that gave the album its name.” --New York Times

“Friedberger’s finest solo album to date...Supple, elastic, and in forward motion, it loses nothing in translation.” - Mojo

Eleanor Friedberger released her new album, Rebound, on Frenchkiss Records this past May. Today, she’s premiered a brand new video for album standout “Are We Good” via Consequence of Sound.  Click HERE to watch it.

Friedberger will also be hitting the road this month for a nationwide tour in support ofRebound, which was released to rapturous response in the spring.  Tour dates are listed below.
Rebound is the incredible next step in a lauded, brilliant recording career by one of the most prolific, daring independent artists of our time.  From her days spent in The Fiery Furnaces, creating melodically off-kilter, idiosyncratic mini-epics, to her three acclaimed previous solo albums, Eleanor Friedberger continues to create exactly what we need to hear when we need to hear it.  Always anchored by her plaintive, velvety alto, and Dylan-esque lyrical treatises, Rebound is Eleanor at her very best, and a welcome addition to her rich, celebrated catalogue.
Director Gil Kenan on the video:

“ARE WE GOOD? got me hooked the first time I heard Eleanor perform it - a fragment made up of fragments. The imagery in the video is picking up on that theme, the arpeggiating rhythm, and giving shape to it on screen. The process of creating the video was nearly stream of consciousness. My wife Eliza and I sat down at her studio with a roll of green paper and cut out shapes. I animated some of them, made some props, and Eliza created a dress (or 2/3 of one) for Eleanor to wear. There's a pretty version of the video that is all green-screen, without the chromakey, but it's too risky to release it... someone could go rogue and composite wacky animal bloopers all over Eleanor.”
