Jazz Fest is upon us, and that means countless music-fans will be making a pilgrimage to the birthplace of jazz, and all-around one-of-a-kind city, New Orleans to enjoy music, fun, and unrivaled spring weather. New Orleans is a city known for its resilience, and it would not have this reputation if not for the residents and businesses that make it up. One such business will be kicking off a celebration of their 20 years in business this weekend. Basin Street Records has been releasing music by some of New Orleans best recording artists for nearly two decades, and they want the world to know that they’re here to stay by celebrating their 20th birthday in style. Come out for an all-star post-Jazz Fest show on May 5 at The Little Gem Saloon, it’sBasin Street Records 20th Anniversary Kickoff. Doors at 7 and show at 8:30. The kickoff will feature music upstairs and downstairs with performances including: The Trumpet Battle: Kermit Ruffins v. Irvin Mayfield, Henry Butler, Dr. Michael White,Jason Marsalis, Davell Crawford and more!
