Early praise for Sunflower Bean + Human Ceremony:
"Three and a half minutes of impossibly jangly guitar bliss and sweet-dreams vocals make ['Easier Said'] the best thing we've heard yet from the New York psychedelic-rock trio..." - Rolling Stone

"The music is both restrained and aggressive...but like a lot of great rock'n'roll, it's also catchy, compelling, and concise." - Pitchfork

"Made up of old souls in photogenic forms, this teenage psychedelic rock trio mixes metal-influenced guitar squall with Arctic New Wave vocals..." - New York Times
"...this band is full of surprises and shifts. There's an exhilarating feeling seeing this band live; I got the impression that they even surprised each other during the performance." - NPR's All Songs Considered
"Another killer track...one of the band's best songs to date." - The FADER
"In a haze of distorted guitars and psych-rock come Sunflower Bean, the Brooklyn trio who make wonderful, reverb-soaked music about things they are too young to even romanticize...['Easier Said'] sparkles and glitters, only a fleeting glimpse of a very promising record. - Stereogum

Sunflower Bean got their start in the DIY New York scene, but the band quickly began to accelerate into one of the foremost up-and-coming bands nationally and overseas. Since the band's inception in 2013, Sunflower Bean have toured U.S. and Europe opening for the likes of DIIV, Best Coast, Wolf AliceThe Vaccines and more, as well as wowed audiences at festivals includingCMJ, SXSW, Beach Goth, and UK's Great Escape. Human Ceremony's forthcoming release and Sunflower Bean's massive upcoming U.S. and EU tour cement the fact that Sunflower Beanhas arrived.

Drawing inspiration from a vast pool of influences such as Black Sabbath and The CureSunflower Bean refine their sound and take it to the next level on Human Ceremony.  It is a crystalline, bright, sparkling record, tipping its cap to the likes of The Vaselines, The Velvet Underground, The Feelies, and more, loaded with an innate artfulness that belies the band's young age:  all three members are under 21. Written in drummer Jacob Faber's basement in Long Island - where the band got its start back in high school - and recorded in Brooklyn with producer Matt Molnar (Friends), Human Ceremony's 11 tracks came together in just seven days.   Having leapt out of the gate as a formidable live band, Sunflower Bean's incomparable stage energy settles perfectly into the grooves of its finely crafted debut album.  From the cascading guitar riffs in woozy album opener "Human Ceremony," to the surging "Come On," to Cumming's gliding, sky-high harmonies on "Easier Said" and more, on Human CeremonySunflower Bean's spell is cast.

Sunflower Bean are: Jacob Faber [drums], Julia Cumming [vocals/bass], and Nick Kivlen[vocals/guitars].
