Blood Red Shoes @ Playlisted

PLAYLISTED
July 16th, 2012
by Marah Eakin
We get a lot of records sent to us here at The A.V. Club. Fortunately, we end up liking some of them. That's why we launched Playlistedto share our latest recommendations of tracks music fans have to hear.

Blood Red Shoes, "Je Me Perds"
In the spirit of The Kills comes Blood Red Shoes, another English duo with a penchant for buzzy guitars and rip-roaring singles. The band's new record, In Time To Voices, isn't out in the U.S. until July 24, but if the first single, "Je Me Perds," is any indication, fans are in for a hell of a fast ride. It sounds like something Scott Pilgrim band Sex Bob-Omb would write, and that's a very good thing.

Featured Alongside: Frank Ocean, "Bad Religion"; The Kills, "Dreams"; Passion Pit, "Constant Conversations"; The Helio Sequence, "October"

Brighton-based duo Laura-Mary Carter and Steven Answell will return this year with new album In Time To Voices out on July 24th and a new single “Cold” out now via V2/Cooperative Music. The new album was recorded at The Motor Museum in Liverpool with producer Mike Crossey (Arctic Monkeys/Foals/Tribes) who has partnered with them on the production side since their debut album Box of Secrets in 2008.
