Might not be your cup of tea, but my most-listened 2009 album this year was "Sometimes I Wish We Were An Eagle" by Bill Callahan, that and "Embryonic" were the two big standouts for me. Disclaimer: I am also very behind on new music. Two more I keep hearing about are "O'o" by John Zorn and "Bitte Orca" by Dirty Projectors...I definitely need to catch up!
