BORIS WITH MICHIO KURIHARA TAKE US OVER THE RAINBOW

BORIS WITH MICHIO KURIHARA TAKE US OVER THE RAINBOW

LISTEN TO/WATCH: "Rainbow"

The psychedeli-supergroup of Boris and Michio Kurihara (Ghost, White Heaven) first collaborated back in 2006 on the album Rainbow - and we're celebrating its 20th anniversary with a deluxe vinyl issue (the first vinyl release outside Japan!) on Dec. 4. To begin the festivities early, you can now hear the hypersonic collaboration play the title track, "Rainbow", taken from Live At FEVER 20181229 - a new live album from the group showcasing tracks from Rainbow as well as Boris and Kurihara originals, also out Dec. 4 - as well as watch the original music video for the studio cut of "Rainbow".

"Rainbow" showcases the group's penchant for groove - with Atsuo holding down a Can-like beat under Wata's spectral whisper vocals and Takeshi's perfectly placed moody wah-chords. Halfway through, Kurihara damn-near steals the track with a fire-breathing overdriven solo, sounding like a possessed Adrian Belew, before letting the rest of the group finish off the last verse. Hell, Rolling Stone even named it one of the best rock songs of the 21st century!

Twenty years ago, the world was blasted with the album Rainbow - not just a perfect combination, but a meeting place of two unstoppable musical forces. In 2018, Boris with Michio Kurihara reformed for a one-off live show at Shindaita Fever in Tokyo. If you missed out (like most of us did!), you can get the next-best thing - the entire show pressed to wax, ready for your stereo, alongside the first vinyl release of the original Rainbow album outside Japan - both out on Dec. 4, 2026.

SOLD OUT INTIMATE LIVE SHOWS IN PARIS, LONDON, AMSTERDAM AND BRUSSELS IN DECEMBER

Christine and the Queens releases new single “Rendez-vous avec toi“ / “Rendez-vous in your arms”, in French and English, and announces upcoming shows. The single is accompanied by a thrilling dance-based music video, choreographed by Alexander Ekman and shot in Paris. You can see the Christine and the Queens & RaphaĆ«l De Albuquerque-directed video HERE.

The single opens a cosmic, sensory new era, announced with a series of sold out intimate shows in Paris, London, Amsterdam and Brussels. Performed with a full band, these shows will feature cult classics and unreleased songs, preparing audiences for a full-scale return. Tickets to all shows are sold out. Chris shares: “The shows with my audience are the highlights of my life. My musicians, Vincent Taeger, Vincent Taurelle, Adrian Edeline and Karl Onibuje, and I knew we had to reunite with our audience before anything else, in more intimate venues, for a true moment of music played live, felt and shared. We will revisit a repertoire that made us grow together, and give a first listen to unreleased songs from the next album. We revisit, we reinterpret, we remember, and we transcend”.

This song is the first taste of an upcoming album, to be released next spring. It rides an uptempo, organic disco groove that refuses to let you sit down. It is exultant and luminous: a song about giving in to desire and tenderness, about the night lovers find each other again.

Experimental Indie Legends Xiu Xiu Get Collected Across Collective, Revisiting Depeche Mode, Siouxsie & The Banshees and Hawkwind’s Robert Calvert

EXPERIMENTAL INDIE LEGENDS XIU XIU GET COLLECTED ACROSS COLLECTIVE, REVISITING DEPECHE MODE, SIOUXSIE & THE BANSHEES AND HAWKWIND’S ROBERT CALVERT

Los Angeles, California: Long-running experimental indie band Xiu Xiu have never shied away from unleashing their capabilities across other people’s material. Three past albums of cover versions have both baffled and beautified some of the most iconic songs of the past 50 years, including Talking Heads’ “Psycho Killer,” Roxy Music’s “In Every Dream Home A Heartache” and “Wild Is The Wind,” the Nina Simone classic that became, in turn, one of David Bowie’s most voluptuous ballads.

Now comes Collective, a gathering not only of past covers, but also a triptych of remixes, as the  team get to grips with a couple of lost Robert Calvert tracks, “Marathon Man” and “Over The Moon,” and rising star Thunder Bae’s “mercybeggingboys,” plus a collaboration with The 69 Eyes’ frontman Jyrki 69.

To which we can add Iggy Pop/Siouxsie and the Banshees’s “The Passenger,” Depeche Mode’s “Never Let Me Down Again” and even a slice of Christmas cheer in the form of “Frosty The Snowman,” recorded with guest artist and actress Susanne Sachsse.

But you will have to move quickly if you want a copy!

While the tracks are readily available on digital platforms, two ultra-limited vinyl editions… in black and clear wax… run to just 85 pressings apiece, available on a strictly first-come first-served basis only from Cleopatra Records’ cleorecs.com webstore.

There, too, the true collector can hunt down a multitude of other rarities and limited editions - limited white label 45s, fabulous etchings, test pressings, autographed singles and albums; exclusive posters, T-shirts and tote bags.

Cleopatra chief Brian Perera explains, “I’m trying to recapture the feelings I had when I was first seriously getting into collecting, and wishing there was more to it than buying the exact same records as my friends.  I wanted things that they didn’t have, and would probably never find.  And judging from the emails that have been coming in, that’s exactly what we’re doing.

“Record collecting should not be about simply picking up the latest release by whoever it is, in every format they can throw at you. It’s about tracking down records that mean something, that give you something you don’t already own, in a format that you can be proud of owning.”

Releasing on January 15 2027, Collective brings together some of the most in-demand tracks in Xiu Xiu’s recent catalog - and does so in a form that itself is destined to become even more in-demand.

Perera is correct. Record collecting has not been this much fun in ages!

“A sharp-shooter who’s clearly only ever been driven by her own instincts.”—The Face

November 4, 2026—Rising star Lola Leon unveils a new song, “Tramp Stamp,” today. Listen to the track, written and produced with Oscar Scheller (Pinkpantheress, Lily Allen, Kelela) and out via Atlantic Records, here.

“‘Tramp Stamp’ is about emancipating myself from the negative perceptions placed on me and on women who express themselves freely,” says Leon. “It’s about generational trauma, witchcraft and the dichotomy of womanhood. I wanted to immortalize and uplift those who suffered in my bloodline, and clarify between what’s inherent and what’s chosen.”

The track follows two 2026 releases, her own single “T Shirt,” which debuted to critical acclaim from W Magazine and others, and her first ever duet with her mother, Madonna, on “The Test” from Confessions II. Leon also featured on “except in spring” from the experimental Venezuelan producer Safety Trance earlier this year.

Leon began releasing music in 2022 under the name Lolahol, with several singles culminating in her debut EP, Go, via Eartheater’s Chemical X label that year.

Lourdes “Lola” Leon grew up at the epicenter of pop culture, forging a bold aesthetic shaped by music, dance and fashion. Raised in New York, London and Los Angeles, Leon studied at LaGuardia High School before continuing her studies at the University of Michigan and Purchase College, deepening her commitment to dance. With a fresh perspective, she returned to New York, finding a new wave of collaborators who reinvigorated her creative process and pushed her artistry to the next level as a recording artist.

Leon has since gone on to perform around the globe (from Webster Hall to Primavera Sound in Spain) while maintaining a consistent resume of creative roles including choreographer for her haunting music video for “Spelling” and composer of an original score for Ottolinger’s AW26 Paris runway show. A formidable force in fashion, Leon has fronted major campaigns for Miu Miu, Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Jacobs, Burberry, Calvin Klein and Mugler, and walked for houses including Versace and Bottega Veneta.
