Bauhaus’ Final Recording To Be Released As Ultra-Limited Hand-Numbered Vinyl Edition

Bauhaus’ Final Recording To Be Released As Ultra-Limited Hand-Numbered Vinyl Edition
Los Angeles, California: “Drink The New Wine,” the last song ever recorded by Peter Murphy, Daniel Ash, Kevin Haskins and David J - aka goth legends Bauhaus - will be issued on white, silver and red vinyl, just in time for Halloween.

Formed at the tail end of the 1970s, before there even was such a thing as Goth, Bauhaus effectively birthed an entire way of life with their debut single, the immortal "Bela Lugosi's Dead."  Four albums in four years cemented the band's reputation; a handful of much-applauded reunion tours (and a fifth album in 2008) ensured it remained in place. Indeed, even now, Cleopatra are planning a slew of releases based upon those later, thrilling, adventures.

"Drink The New Wine," however, is something else entirely.

Musically, it is classic Bauhaus, as Ash explains. "I always loved it when Bauhaus would go into art fart mode. Truly liberating and FUN!"

But the record itself, too, is unique.

Releasing on 12-inch single on October 30, every color variant comes with an etched b-side, gloriously reproducing the Bauhaus logo. And with only 150 copies of each color available worldwide, clearly one of the final chapters in Bauhaus history is about to become one of the band’s rarest physical releases.

Every copy will be individually hand numbered, making each color its own edition of only 150.  There will be no repressing.

Clearly, then,“Drink The New Wine” is not being positioned as just another conventional vinyl single.  Rather, it is being presented as a music artifact - a deliberately scarce, individually numbered object created for the most dedicated Bauhaus fans and collectors around the world.

Bauhaus have always existed outside convention, and this release reflects that same spirit. And, at a time when music has become increasingly unlimited, instantly accessible and disposable, this release moves in the opposite direction.

One song. One pressing. Three colors. 450 copies - one color per customer

Nothing more.

OCTOBER 8, 2026 [New York, NY] – Playful and sun-soaked on the outside, while carrying something more bittersweet underneath, critically acclaimed UK indie-pop band Girlhood return today with “Picnic,” the latest glimpse into their upcoming album, This Will Make Sense In The End, out Thursday, November 5. The track retains the laid-back energy established in the debut of the project, inviting listeners into Girlhood’s hazy world of warm afternoons, carefree moments and the feelings that linger in the background.

While the previous single “Lemon Aid” was an invitation to surrender to the moment - to dance until the weight lifts, creating a pocket of escapism where everyday worries dissolve into golden light, laughter and the comforting promise that things might just be okay – “Picnic” offers that same sense of escape, but this time, the sunshine it transports you towards conceals something far more bittersweet.

On the surface, “Picnic” is one of Girlhood’s lightest moments - built around loose rhythms, warm harmonies and a weightless summer feel. Underneath, the reality is considerably messier. Singer-songwriter Natalie Holmes uses food, appetite and the familiar rituals of a picnic as playful metaphors for desire, dating and the complicated things we’re led to believe we need and want in order to feel fulfilled.

That sharp contrast sits at the heart of the track. Difficult conversations are sugar-coated as Holmes’ lyrics weave through mellow piano, lush, layered harmonies and the sample-based production that has become central to their soulful, gentle pop sound. Adding to the track’s quintessential charm and laid-back groove, a chunky rhythm drives the song, while a floaty saxophone solo emerges midway through before fading into euphoria, creating a dreamy, golden world. Even the accompanying visuals lean into that juxtaposition, with a little chaos along the way before everything settles back down on the picnic blanket.

It’s an infectious offering that captures the unmistakable essence of Girlhood - nostalgic, effortlessly warm and already beginning to feel like a signature of the band’s evolving musical identity.

GIRLHOOD

This Will Make Sense In The End marks a defining new chapter in the evolution of Girlhood. After watching Natalie Holmes perform in support of Jesca Hoop, Girlhood founder, producer and songwriter Christian Pinchbeck was immediately drawn to her distinctive voice and invited her to collaborate. What began as an instinctive creative partnership soon became something far more transformative: the return of a dynamic that felt both immediate and inevitable. After years of working remotely with friends-of-friends and guest vocalists, Girlhood once again felt like a unit.

This Will Make Sense In The End was written during a period when Natalie's relationship with dating, love and self-understanding had begun to dramatically shift. Entering her thirties introduced a new kind of clarity, but also a more complex uncertainty - the realization that old romantic instincts no longer applied in quite the same way, that love could be exhilarating and damaging in equal measure, and that wanting something was not always the same as needing it. Her love and passion for food became intertwined with those themes, woven into songs about attraction, control, hunger, desire, and self-preservation.

Across This Will Make Sense In The End, food becomes both a recurring metaphor and setting. Picnics, lemonade, breakfast, fruit, desserts, dilution, and hunger recur like clues hidden in plain sight. The result is an album centered around one relationship, but equally concerned with the emotional machinery surrounding it - the rituals, appetites, performances, and quiet negotiations involved in trying to love someone without losing yourself in the process.

Musically, the record began as an experiment: borrowing forgotten soul records and pushing them until they no longer behaved like samples. Rather than using them as nostalgic decoration, Girlhood reimagined them into entirely new rhythms, textures, and emotional landscapes. That process became the engine of the album. Songs drift between sample-rich, sunlit indie-pop and more fractured, unpredictable territory, moving effortlessly through sparse R&B, acoustic confessionals, and moments of cinematic emotional release.

For Girlhood, the album also tells a longer story. Natalie has been releasing music since the age of 18, while Girlhood's debut album was originally written collaboratively before former vocalist Tiece departed on the day of its release. Since then, the project continued through a series of remote collaborations and guest vocalists. This Will Make Sense In The End feels like a reassembly - not a return to the past, but a rediscovery of what can happen when two people occupy the same room and allow ideas to unfold naturally.

The result is Girlhood's most intimate and fully realized work to date: sample-driven indie-pop with soul running through its veins, rooted firmly in everyday life and written with the perspective of someone still piecing together what it all means. With This Will Make Sense In The End, Girlhood refine their unmistakably cinematic sound while embracing a newfound warmth, vulnerability, and emotional confidence.

Originally formed as Elephant before evolving into Girlhood, the band first received widespread acclaim for their 2014 debut album Sky Swimming, earning praise from outlets such as Clash and Pitchfork. Their wistful songwriting, vivid imagery, and understated emotional depth drew comparisons to artists such as Daughter and Camera Obscura, while several tracks found their way onto popular television series including Misfits and Lucifer, cementing the band's reputation for creating music with a memorable and cinematic quality.

Girlhood is Natalie Holmes and Christian Pinchbeck. “Picnic” is available now. This Will Make Sense In The End will be released on Thursday, November 5 via OK! Good Records.

This upcoming winter, Baby Jane will be heading to several cities across North America for the Winter Forever tour. The rising independent electronic pop artist will be promoting her recent sophomore record, Winter Forever, which was released on July 10 via Terem. In her largest North American tour yet, she will offer a total surrender to rhythm, to movement, to the body dissolving inside sound that draws from dance pop classics and the raw micro scenes of internet-born bedroom hardstyle. Beginning with a brief DJ set before transitioning into her catalogue, her shows will be a unique portal into her sonic world.

"Loneliness is a private experience, and it is the heartbeat of my songs," says Baby Jane about the upcoming tour. "Meeting my fans face to face, I have learned that there is a gentle sensitivity in each one of them. I see this quality in myself, too, and they have made me love that part of myself more because it is so beautiful in them. I'm so grateful that this Winter Forever Tour is bringing us together."

Throughout the summer, Baby Jane's innovation in the EDM scene has captured the hearts of many. Her music is romantic, entrancing, and hypnotic, "transforming [Baby Jane] from underground favorite into one of the most compelling new voices in electronic music," per Mundane Magazine. Recent singles have been highlighted in Rolling Stone, NPR, OfficialCharts, The LUNA Collective, The Line Of Best Fit, and more. "What makes Baby Jane such an imaginative creator," Office Magazine wrote, "is her open indulgence in fantasy and wistfulness, with love being the bottom line of everything." Reverie adds, "She’s crafting an ambitious vision, particularly for an artist whose ascent has happened largely outside of traditional industry pathways."

Her recent album Winter Forever is the flickering apartment light in the blue hour of a brutalist city, a quiet signal of life against concrete vastness. It inhabits cold surrealism and ethereal horror, mirroring the glimmering melancholy at its core. Allowing herself to push her creativity literally into new worlds — developing her own voice in the ethereal-meets-synthwave EDM microgenre known as "angelcore" — she has sketched a new universe with occult symbols, coven lore, surrealist horror, abandoned concrete buildings, pixelated video games, and desolate fields. It thrives in paradox, introversion, and escapism.
