Los Angeles, CA (May 29, 2020) - Songstress Zella Day has officially released her brand new single "My Game," a hypnotic disco track from her forthcoming five-song EP Where Does The Devil Hide. Today, the maverick singer-songwriter has unveiled an accompanying music video for the song as well, directed by Phillip Lopez (Lauv, James Arthur) with creative direction spearheaded by Kaiman Kazazian and Zella herself. Filled with rich, selective coloring and dazzling retro fashions, the piece is a stylish homage to the classic spy films of 1960s cinema. Watch the video now HERE.

"My Game is feverish time travel into every dimension where the hustle is on the floor," says Zella. "It's a disco game board with a pair of cherry red dice rolling in my favor. I'm climbing up onto the table in my glitter platforms and I'm calling the shots."

"My Game" marks the second offering from Where Does The Devil Hide, due out August 28th, 2020. Produced by Dan Auerbach, the EP serves as Zella's debut release in partnership with Easy Eye Sound and Concord Records. For complete track-listing information, please see below.

"Working with Zella at Easy Eye came as a creative partnership in so many ways," says Dan Auerbach. "She's such a free thinker. These songs showcase her in a way that is honest and self-realized."

Last month, Zella released "People Are Strangers," a vulnerable ballad, sun-soaked and possessing the aura of classic California. The stunning music video for the song was filmed in Los Angeles and directed by famed photographer Neil Krug (Lana Del Rey, Tame Impala), who also shot the EP artwork for Where Does The Devil Hide and the single artwork for both "People Are Strangers" and "My Game".

"People are Strangers" and "My Game" have ignited a confident new era for Zella Day; one that promises to meld vivid aesthetics, sounds and ideas inspired by the spirit of quintessential California. It's a coastal affinity to which she is deeply bonded. Zella comes from a line of strong women who have called the West Coast home for decades. This genetic and geographical linkage are largely responsible for Zella's passionate embrace and understanding of human nature, psychedelia, and California's history of creative subversion.

UK POP SIREN GRIFF RELEASES NEW SONG “FORGIVE MYSELF”

UK POP SIREN GRIFF RELEASES NEW SONG
“FORGIVE MYSELF”

LISTEN HERE
"Writer, producer, stylist, designer and creative director, it's clear that Griff is a force to be reckoned with." - Vogue

"Griff is the hottest new artist to come out of the UK since Dua Lipa." - V Mag

“The teenage boss about to take charge of pop.” - NME

"Griff looks every bit like pop’s bright new star...it is, quite frankly, all rather brilliant." - i-D

May 29, 2020 (Los Angeles, CA) – Rising 19-year old UK songstress GRIFF who was named one of NME’s “essential new artists for 2020,” releases her latest pop anthem “Forgive Myself,” today via Warner Records. Listen HERE.

On “Forgive Myself,” GRIFF confirms her potential as the new face of British pop ready to take over the world. Flipping the break-up song on its head, it's less about an ex or teenage heartache as it is the relationship you have with yourself: those doubts, insecurities and questions of self-worth that only you can fix, if you are to have the courage to love again. As rawly intimate as it is spiritually empowered, “Forgive Myself” takes influences of electronic music, soul and R&B rendered in richly DIY style (all held together by Griff's soon-to-be instantly identifiable voice).

About writing “Forgive Myself,” GRIFF said, "I think I find it easy to be quite hard on myself when it comes to making decisions and trusting people. So this song was just about cutting myself some slack and forgiving myself for past relationships that maybe didn't end in the way I thought they would.”

“Forgive Myself” follows the February release of GRIFF’s beautifully stripped-back ballad “Good Stuff” which Paper Magazine lauded as “a gorgeous new piano ballad” and Idolator proclaimed “is a soaring, largely-acoustic ballad that showcases the newcomer’s powerful pipes." The song has amassed over 20 million streams, GRIFF’s most successful song to date.  Earlier this month she released an inventive acappella video for the track that she created and recorded herself at her family home outside of London. Watch the video here.

GRIFF also made her U.S. live debut in February, playing shows in Los Angeles and New York.
After her show at the Sayers Club in LA, Ones To Watch proclaimed, “we were fortunate enough to witness a star being born. Her jaw-dropping performance left the crowd in absolute awe.”

GRIFF finished high school last year and released her debut EP The Mirror Talk last November which Billboard called an Electrifying Debut” and includes stand out tracks “Mirror Talk” and “Paradise.”

GRIFF is a one-woman production, songwriting and visual powerhouse, who - on the strength of her early releases, not to mention her signature bubble ponytail – is already honing future-pop powers. Born to Chinese and Jamaican parents just outside Watford, United Kingdom, she started making music by borrowing her brother’s Logic; teaching herself how to produce, and writing songs in secret from her classmates (many of whom only found out what GRIFF was up to when they heard “Mirror Talk” on Annie Mac). A straight-A student, GRIFF uses a multi-disciplined approach which extends to not only producing the bulk of these songs herself, but making her own clothes as exhibited on her striking artwork, shooting live visuals crammed into her home studio, and trying her hand in the creative direction of her live shows. It’s this fearlessness (coupled with the hopes and fears of any 19-year-old) that make GRIFF truly special.

GRANT Releases New Single and Video, 'Words'

GRANT RETURNS WITH NEW SINGLE AND VIDEO, ‘WORDS’

ANNOUNCES EP COMING THIS FALL

‘WORDS’

Having spent much of 2019 dreaming up new material, 25-year-old Stockholm based artist GRANT has returned today with her stunning new single and music video. ‘Words’ comes with the confirmation that an EP is on the way, this being the first taste of what’s to come from this exciting new chapter of hers.

Listen to ‘Words’ HERE.

Recorded in both Oslo and Stockholm and co-produced by Martin Sjølie (Sigrid, Aurora) and Swedish duo Teofrans‘Words’contemplates the various relationship dynamics, up and downs, GRANT reveals, "I think relationships are a bit like religion, it has faith and rituals and when you doubt you should take comfort in knowing, it’s because you care.” She continues. “It takes courage to endure. That is love. Briefly we peek outside our window and wonder if what we do matters and if these rituals are giving us what we need. In time we start to mirror each other, we form a language and we have predictable habits, but I still can’t read his mind. There’s no absolution and certainties are momentary even when they last a lifetime. Looking at it that way, the idea of mundane seem kind of insane to me. But I try, and that is also love."

Watch the Lina Söderström-directed music video for ‘Words’ HERE.

With the arrival of her full-length debut 'In Bloom’ (2018), Swedish artist GRANT emerged as a undeniable force on the alternative pop scene, enchanting audiences with her spellbinding voice and storytelling. Layered with her nuanced meditations on mental health and self-love, the album earned GRANT a “Newcomer of the Year” nomination at the 2019 Swedish Grammy Awards — where she had previously delivered a show-stopping performance of her breakthrough single ’Waterline' — and quickly drew acclaim from some of the world’s most respected critics.

Born Alma Caroline Cederlöf, GRANT grew up on a farm in the countryside outside Stockholm, spending much of her childhood among the horses, “singing and imagining the different possibilities of life.”

After falling in love with performing upon joining an after-school music program at age nine, she studied jazz singing while attending music school full-time during her high-school years. Along with mastering the jazz phrasing that informs her music today, GRANT delved into pop music for the first time, having mostly grown up on artists from the UK ’90s alternative music scene (PJ Harvey, Tricky, Massive Attack, Björk). Once she’d finished school, GRANT began blurring those genres by writing a song a day, soon trading her given name for a moniker inspired by Cary Grant (“I wanted a name that had some masculinity about it, since I’m a very tender, girly person,” she explains).

In 2016 she posted a track called ’Wicked' to Soundcloud, earning buzz for the song’s moody take on soul-pop and eventually landing her deal with Sony Music Sweden. Following the release of debut album 'In Bloom'  GRANT embarked on a headline tour, supported pop star Tove Styrke on a run of Scandinavian tour dates, and took the stage at a number of major summer festivals. As her rise continued into the next year, she found herself named “Artist of The Future” by Swedish National Radio P3, in addition to two nominations at the same Radio P3 Gold Awards plus international shows in London, Berlin etc.

GRANT will perform live at the mini-festival livestream 36h Ingrid on Saturday May 30th at 12PM PT / 3PM ET. Organizers are the Stockholm collective Ingrid (members from Peter, Bjorn & John, Miike Snow, Lykke Li etc) and will take place on Friday and Saturday May 29, 30. Other performers include
El Perro Del Mar, Amason, Alice Boman, Gustav Ejstes (Dungen) + DJ sets by Howlin’ Pelle (The Hives) and Icona Pop. Viewers will be able to watch her performance HERE.

’Words’ is out everywhere now.

May 29, 2020 (Los Angeles, CA) – Today, THE FLAMING LIPS release a brand new track “Flowers of Neptune 6,” their first new recording of 2020. Produced by Dave Fridmann and The Flaming Lips, “Flowers of Neptune 6” reflects the gentler side of The Lips paisley oeuvre and melodically flows downstream into a welcoming wormhole of wistful summer pop. The track is accompanied by a video filmed in their home state of Oklahoma and directed by Wayne Coyne and George Salisbury. Click here for audio and here to view and share the video.

Wayne Coyne of The Flaming Lips explains the new track: “‘Flowers Of Neptune 6’ track started off as a very evocative series of melodies that Steven Drozd had woven together. The first time he played it for me I was stunned by its emotional flow. The 3 sections (well they seem like sections to me) seemed to hint at an older, mature mind reflecting back into a journey from younger innocence then starting to learn and understand and keeps going into the panic of becoming one with the world. The opening lyric ‘Yellow sun is going down so slow...Doing acid and watching the light-bugs glow like tiny spaceships in a row...’ is the coolest thing I’ll ever know...and is a combination of blissful, innocent, psychedelic experiences that Steven and Kacey Musgraves (she sings harmony with me on the track) and myself all discussed.”

“Flowers of Neptune 6” is the first new music from The Lips since 2019’s internationally acclaimed King’s Mouth Music And Songs. Expect additional details to be revealed soon.

In other Lips news, Wayne Coyne has designed a band new T-shirt featuring his drawing of what a quarantine time Flaming Lips show might look like. Click here to view the COVID Show 2020 shirt. Expect additional details to be revealed soon.

LONG AWAITED NEW ALBUM AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER HERE

UNFOLLOW THE RULES ARRIVES VIA BMG ON FRIDAY, JULY 10

GRAMMY® Award-nominated singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright has announced the premiere of RUFUS WAINWRIGHT: UNMAKING UNFOLLOW THE RULES, a behind-the-scenes documentary chronicling the extraordinary creation of his eagerly anticipated new album. The short film debuts, directed by Jeff Richter of Earthquake Productions (Guns N Roses, Lenny Kravitz, De La Soul) today at 1 pm ET, exclusively from WXPN's World Cafe via NPR Live Sessions HERE. In addition, today's premiere will be accompanied by a special Q&A with Wainwright. UNFOLLOW THE RULES arrives via BMG on Friday, July 10; pre-orders are available now HERE.

Wainwright's ninth studio LP and first new pop album since 2012, UNFOLLOW THE RULES finds the artist at the peak of his powers, entering artistic maturity with passion, honesty, and a new-found fearlessness while remaining as creative, bold, and mischievous as ever. Produced by Mitchell Froom (Crowded House, Paul McCartney, Richard Thompson, Suzanne Vega, Randy Newman) at a variety of legendary Los Angeles studios - including Sound City Studios, United Recording, and EastWest Studios - the album serves as both bookend to Act I of an extraordinary career which, like UNFOLLOW THE RULES, began in the studios of Los Angeles, but also now as the first lines of a remarkable new chapter. Inspired by middle age, married life, fatherhood, friends, loss, London, and Laurel Canyon, songs like the acclaimed single, "Damsel In Distress" and the powerful, album-closing "Alone Time" find the gifted singer-songwriter ready to tackle new challenges, yet compelled to confront his past by making sense of how he has grown both as a musician and the contended family man he has become.

UNFOLLOW THE RULES has already been met with remarkable praise from some of Wainwright's friends, fans, and fellow artists. "This is pop music on a grand scale; sweeping, symphonic, unabashedly emotional and fearlessly agnostic in style and delivery," says Sting, while Cyndi Lauper described the album as "Rufus' PET SOUNDS. It sounds like a culmination of everything he has done. It's a great album, catchy and intelligent."

An ingenious, compellingly charismatic live artist, Wainwright hopes to see his fans later this year on his epic UNFOLLOW THE RULES Tour. For scheduled dates and other information, please visit rufuswainwright.com/tour.
