Definitive Vinyl Reissues Of Nine Inch Nails Catalog To Be Released
Late last year, Trent Reznor declared, "New NIN coming in 2016. Other stuff, too." The 'other stuff' included the scores for NASA's Juno short film, the climate change documentary "Before the Flood" (featuring the song "A Minute To Breathe") and the Peter Berg film "Patriots Day," set for wide release on January 13, 2017. Now, just in time, he makes good on the Nine Inch Nails side of things.

On December 23, Nine Inch Nails will self-release Not The Actual Events, a new five- song EP. It finds Reznor and now official bandmate Atticus Ross taking an unexpected left turn from 2013's Hesitation Marks and sounding unrecognizable from their current film work. "It's an unfriendly, fairly impenetrable record that we needed to make," says Reznor. "It's an EP because that ended up being the proper length to tell that story."

The pre-order for Not The Actual Events launched today on Nine Inch Nails'redesigned website, www.nin.com. Fans can pre-order two formats at the NIN store: 180g 1-sided vinyl and a unique limited digital + physical component version. The EP will be available on all digital platforms on December 23.

A very special limited vinyl edition of The Fragile is also available for pre-order in the NIN store. Created by Reznor and Ross, this four-disc, 150-minute version of the classic 1999 album features 37 instrumental, alternate and unreleased tracks, many of which have never been heard before. The Fragile: Deviations 1 will not be available on any digital services.
"The Fragile occupies a very interesting and intimate place in my heart," explains Reznor. "I was going through a turbulent time in my life when making it and revisiting it has become a form of therapy for me. As an experiment, I removed all the vocals from the record and found it became a truly changed experience that worked on a different yet compelling level. The Fragile: Deviations 1 represents Atticus and I embellishing the original record with a number of tracks from those sessions we didn't use before. The result paints a complimentary but different picture we wanted to share."
Reznor and NIN art director John Crawford have begun the meticulous process of creating "definitive editions" of all the major NIN releases on vinyl. Fans can now pre-order the first three Definitive Editions (Broken, The Downward Spiral and The Fragile) in the NIN store. They willreceive a digital download of the remastered audio shortly and vinyl will ship in spring 2017. Those interested in obtaining upcoming reissues, which will be released later in 2017, can request to be notified when specific albums become available.

"We want to present the catalog as it was intended to be, with no compromises," says Reznor. "That means a careful remastering of the audio from the original sources, a painstaking recreation of the artwork, pristine materials, some surprises and an insane attention to detail that you probably won't notice...but it matters to us. No extra bullshit and gimmicks - the 'real' records in their truest form."

The Flaming Lips Release New Song And Video- "Sunrise (Eyes Of The Young)"- Available Today

THE FLAMING LIPS RELEASE NEW SONG AND VIDEO -
"SUNRISE (EYES OF THE YOUNG)" - AVAILABLE TODAY

NEW ALBUM, OCZY MLODY, SET FOR RELEASE ON JANUARY 13, 2017

Wayne Coyne To Host Facebook Live Chat Today at 10:00AM PST/ 1:00PM EST

December 16, 2016 (Burbank, CA) -  Today THE FLAMING LIPS release a new song and video -"Sunrise (Eyes Of The Young)" - from their upcoming album OCZY MLODY, which will be released via Warner Bros. Records on January 13, 2017. "Sunrise (Eyes Of The Young)" is now available as an instant download to fans who pre-order the digital format of the album fromiTunes or Amazon or any format from the band's official website.  Watch the video for"Sunrise (Eyes Of The Young)" HERE.

Wayne Coyne explains, "The 'Sunrise (Eyes Of The Young)' video is part somber and sad and part childlike, ethereal fantasy. Myself and the band (Well... Ha... Some of the band) are lip syncing and play pretending in a scene out of perhaps the spaghetti western, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly... Ha. We are all looking serious and melancholy in what is maybe a church balcony at sunrise. The other part, the ethereal fantasy part, is Disney cartoon meets James Bond movie title sequence. The sun turns into a bouncy, drippy ball and is kicked around (and played with) by a giddy, cosmic nymph. Dancing and tripping in the echoes of dawn..."

Once again, Wayne will host another Facebook live chat today at 10:00AM PST/ 1:00pm EST.  Go to www.facebook.com/FlamingLips to hear more about the video.

OCZY MLODY will be the band's 17th studio album and released in several configurations: 12-song CD, 12-song digital album, 12-song double-LP vinyl edition pressed on colored vinyl, and an 11-song single-LP vinyl edition. Both vinyl versions include a digital download card of all 12 songs.

Agnes Obel, 2017 North American Tour

EUROPE'S ENIGMATIC AGNES OBEL ANNOUNCES NORTH AMERICAN HEADLINE TOUR FOR EARLY 2017
New Music Video for "It's Happening Again"
Premiered Exclusively on NPR's "First Watch"

Having just released Citizen of Glass, praised by the UK's Q as "a thing of quiet wonder" and by America's Mother Jones as "a beautiful album likely to soothe the dark night of the soul," Agnes Obel will headline a four-week North American tour that kicks off February 28 in Montreal, Canada and wraps in Ann Arbor, MI on March 31.  Tickets for most dates go on sale this Friday, November 18; log on to www.agnesobel.com for complete ticketing info.

In addition, Obel's new music video for the new track "It's Happening Again" was premiered on NPR's "First Watch."  The animated piece, created/directed by Alex Bruel Flagstad who has directed several of Obel's videos, is a kaleidoscopic journey through dimensions of colors, patterns, twinkling lights and other celestial images, all perfect for Obel's ethereal voice and wistful harmonies.   The video can be viewed here.

Marking her concert return to North America for the first time in two years, Obel's dates are in support of Citizen of Glass (10-21-16/Play In Again Sam), her first concept album and most ambitious work to date.  The title comes from the German concept of the Gläserner bürger, the "human or glass citizen," that deals with the individual's level of privacy.  Rooted in today's overshare-heavy age of social media, Obel has woven this concept, lyrically and musically, into the album's ten tracks, as they examine the provocative topics of transparency and diminishing privacy, a world of "glass people" who bare all via social media, and the affect that has on us emotionally and creatively.

"I wanted to write about the transparency and the difference between secrets and confession," said Obel to The Irish Times, who uses social networking platforms solely for work-related topics. "There's a strong sense these days - these decades, even - that we're all under surveillance.  Secrets can be very good to have and to keep."

For this tour, Obel will be joined onstage by Charlotte Danhier (cello, loops, vocals, mellotron, drums, uke), Catherine de Blasio (drums, vocals, bass clarinet, percussion), and Kristina Koropecki (cello, loops, vocals, percussion).  Fans can expect a set list comprised of songs from Obel's critically-acclaimed and platinum-selling albums Philharmonics (2010) and Aventine (2013), as well as selections from Citizen of Glass.

LITTLE ANNIE TO TOUR WITH SWANS IN SPRING 2017

Many influential characters graced the stage of Max’s Kansas City within the creative zeitgeist of New York City during the late 1970’s, but one local native named Annie Bandez thrust herself into the downtown scene with her punk ensemble Annie and the Asexuals, establishing her nom de plume Annie Anxiety (later known as “Little Annie”) and colliding head-on with the social norms of contemporary punk culture entangling the city at that time.

After a couple years of disintegrated pursuits in New York, Annie relocated to England, finding herself at the doorstep of the famed anarchro-commune Dial House headed by activist Penny Rimbaud. It was here that Annie Anxiety established herself as a singular artist and voice with her debut 1981 single “Barbed Wire Halo” on seminal Crass Records and forging a creative alliance with Crass members Penny Rimbaud and Eve Libertine. As the landscape of punk in the United Kingdom was shifting towards a more diverse, multicultural focal point, artists such as Annie Anxiety found themselves exploring musical signatures in styles such as dub reggae and rocksteady.

In the summer of 1983, Annie began work at Southern Studios on what would be her first full length endeavor which encompassed all of her creative assets at that time.  Employing the expertise of legendary dub producer Adrian Sherwood to realize this vision, Annie pulled together members of Crass, Flux of Pink Indians, Family Fodder, African Head Charge, London Underground and Art Interface to record her groundbreaking dub industrial masterpiece.  Upon its initial release by the unofficial Crass off-shoot label Corpus Christi in 1984, Soul Possession started the avalanche of activity that would include dozens of releases and collaborations with Nurse With Wound, Coil, Current 93, Swans and Marc Almond.

HANNI EL KHATIB SHARES NEW VISUAL PIECE FOR "SAVAGE TIMES"

HANNI EL KHATIB SHARES NEW VISUAL PIECE FOR "SAVAGE TIMES"

SAVAGE TIMES VOL. 5 AVAILABLE NOW VIA INNOVATIVE LEISURE

Following the release of his Savage Times Vol. 5 EP two weeks ago via Innovative Leisure, Hanni El Khatib is back today to share a new visual accompaniment for his latest single "Savage Times." The visuals are a psychedelic compilation of found footage, appropriately complementing the dark and trippy track.

Hanni El Khatib's first idea for his Savage Times project was to do something he'd never done before. Instead, he ended up doing... Well, everything he'd never done before. He'd be playing new instruments, writing in unfamiliar new ways, opening himself up to an unrelenting stream of ideas and dedicating himself totally to pure musical instinct - and then releasing songs instantly to the public.

El Khatib started Savage Times last December, after the Bataclan attacks forced the cancellation of a planned Paris Festival performance. With unexpected time on his hands - and unexpected ideas on his mind - he'd scheduled open-ended studio time at Crystal Antlers frontman-turned-producer Jonny Bell's Jazzcats Studio. Each day, he'd take the hour-long drive through L.A.'s industrial corridor to Long Beach, sketching out riffs and lyrics as he drove.

Originally, he'd hoped to explode the lingering idea that he was simply a blues-rock guitar player, but that's why the Savage Times EP Series touches everything from garage rock to punk to disco, hip-hop and even some unexpected solo-guitar self-portraiture. But on the way, he also exploded his own idea of what he could do - even maybe who he was, or would be. Savage Times was an experiment, but also an experience, that includes some of Hanni El Khatib's most personal, political and social songs to date.

Find the new visuals for "Savage Times" as well as Savage Times Vol. 5 above, see below for full details on the EP, and stay tuned for more news from Hanni El Khatib soon.
