	Dec. 4, 2020, NEW ORLEANS – Eyehategod have set a March 12 release date for the band’s first new full-length album in seven years, A History of Nomadic Behavior. The album news arrives with a visualizer for “High Risk Trigger” (https://youtu.be/YTwZdaNEWIw) a taste of what’s to come on the 12-song album. The song debuted yesterday on SiriusXM’s Liquid Metal, hosted by Jose Mangin. Lyrically, the song is cryptic and abstract, but it touches on the all-pervasive fears bred by an invisible germ storm sweeping through the nation and a society sickened by police brutality: “Infection is the way, disruptive crowd takes aim/Burn down the rail yard house, destroy the U.S.A.” Singer Mike IX Williams said of the songs on the album, “We’re not a political band, but it was hard not to be affected by the news from the past year. During this recording, I thought a lot about how stupid humanity has become and how America is now completely divided with these people who don’t believe in science and blindly follow liars and nonsensical ideologies. Some of those feelings may have found their way into these songs, but it is mostly subliminal.” A History of Nomadic Behavior follows a period that saw the New Orleans based band on the road for three years, preceded by Williams suffering liver failure and a transplant. “We toured our asses off for three years and that’s where A History of Nomadic Behavior basically comes from,” adds Williams before touching on his health challenge: “Death is a part of life, it’s a roll of the dice. Sometimes you take life as it comes, other times you fight to stay alive.” The album was produced by Eyehategod, Sanford Parker (Yob, Voivod) and James Whitten (Thou, High on Fire), with mixing by Whitten. Since 1988, they’ve been a soundtrack for the troubled masses. Pitchfork dubbed them the “quintessential Southern sludge band,” Rolling Stone said they are one of “America’s great live bands,” and Thrasher said they are “true musical pioneers in every sense of the word.” Anyone familiar with Eyehategod’s story knows this is survivor’s music, a sound unto itself where Sabbathian riffs are meted out with a caustic anger that goes beyond punk. That’s been the blueprint since guitarist Jimmy Bower (also of NOLA supergroup, Down) founded the band in 1988 with vocalist Michael IX Williams joining not long after. With a discography including sludge-punk mainstays like In the Name of Suffering (1990), Take as Needed for Pain (1993) Dopesick (1996), Confederacy of Ruined Lives (2000) and 2014’s eponymously-titled LP, released in the US through Housecore Records, Eyehategod laid the cracked foundation for their infamous and influential sound. Garnering a reputation for extraordinary three part harmonies, performed in off-kilter spaces across the globe and amassing hundreds of thousands of views, Flyte share new song “Never Get To Heaven,” with a stunning live version performed in the forest at Blenheim Palace. It’s no surprise that the likes of Florence Pugh, Bon Iver, Paul Mescal and Lewis Capaldi are fans of a band, whose stripped back arrangements are as remarkable as their headline shows. The delicate “Never Get To Heaven” is lifted from Flyte’s next big body of work, and was recorded in LA earlier this year with collaborators Justin Raisen (Angel Olsen, Ariel Pink), Andrew Sarlo (Big Thief, Bon Iver) and mixing engineer Ali Chant (Aldous Harding). First releases “Easy Tiger” and “Losing You” served as an introduction to a remarkably poignant breakup record, following a tumultuous year for singer Will Taylor.  “Funnily enough, I wrote this song aged 14. I remember thinking it would be a very clever and grown up exercise to reappropriate a chant from my stint in the scouts as an 8 year old. My 14 year old self, then advanced in years and wisdom, putting a post modern spin on a childish relic. Using it as a vehicle for all my pain and suffering, ha. Strangely, so very many years later, it had achieved it’s depth. It had become the perfect eulogy to the end of my adult relationship. An adolescent attempt at world weariness had become meaningful. “Easy Tiger” landed on NPR’s “New Music Friday” playlist and drew further accolades from, among others, DuJour, Northern Transmissions, Atwood, Alice Magazine and We All Want Someone to Shout For who noted, “It continues the band on their unstoppable winning streak. They care over that lush romantic folk-driven rock sound, full of strings and other beautiful moments." Of “Losing You” Flood noted, "the song’s lyrics match the video’s nostalgic, heartbreaking appeal." Last month the band dropped “I’ve Got A Girl” which, among others, NPR picked up. We All Want Someone To Shout For featured the band (read that story here) and of the video said, “(it) goes all in on a David Lynch eerie vibe that captures this sound that is very much Flyte, but a new form that we haven’t quite heard before." In late September Flyte announced they’d be performing on London’s Parliament Hill in Hampstead Heath with 24 hours notice. 300 fans attended (socially distanced) enjoying live music for the first time in months. As a continuation of creating intimate musical moments during lockdown, Flyte announced they’d be playing “Doorstep shows” to unsuspecting fans and have documented their journey on Instagram. Ardent film fans, throughout lockdown the trio also collaborated with Bafta winning director Mark Jenkins (Bait) on the visuals for “Easy Tiger” and “Losing You.” With lockdown their limitation, the band worked with Mark on finding archive footage which would tell the story of both tracks, and interweave romantic heartbreak into the narrative.  The three secondary school friends from Winchester; Will Taylor, Jon Supran and Nick Hill, are renowned for their complex and rich vocal arrangements and melodies, with lyrics steeped in literary imagery; The Sunday Times calling their acclaimed debut record The Loved Ones “The Best British debut album of the year,” but it was touring in California that recently took hold of their imagination. Inspired by their time in Laurel Canyon, the band recorded their next full-length record in LA, a much-needed new environment to confront the personally challenging subject matter written back home in London, and an opportunity to work with some of their musical heroes.

Originally released on cassette as an exclusive memento for fans who pre-ordered the album, these recordings were lovingly remixed and remastered with the help of songwriter Jenny Owen Youngs and engineer Jett Galindo. ---   When Maine-based singer/songwriter Jess Abbott originally started writing her third album under the Tancred moniker, she was grappling with feelings of aloneness that floated to the surface in the wake of newfound confidence. With a deeper sense of self came a deeper pondering upon human connectedness and isolation. It was during this nebulous time that allowed Abbott to reclaim and make space for the things that were lost somewhere along the way... personal connections, friendships, books, hobbies.    “I wrote Nightstand during a period in my life where I was beginning to better understand my own emotional nature,” says Abbott. “I had to figure out how to lyrically respect the emotionality I was feeling, while still letting my louder, much less emotional guitar work express itself.” It was through the process of finding this balance that Abbott made songwriting a ritual; half of the week was dedicated to her craft.   Much like the myriad contemplations Jess was facing in her emotional life, her songs also shared a theme of contrast. “That was actually part of why I named the album Nightstand -- a nightstand is a place where we collect this and that, and yet to us, our nightstand is very personal and the items on it make sense together.” In an effort to understand how the songs she wrote for Nightstand could best fit together sonically, Abbott systematically rerecorded each song’s demo acoustically. Through this intimate process of documentation, she would ultimately connect with the songs, and herself. “I fell completely in love with the songs in a new way.”   Nightstand (Acoustic) is a collection of these initial ideas starting to take form -- an intimate look at the songwriter’s process, and a beautiful foreshadowing of what would eventually become Nightstand.   Detailing a personal memory, Abbott shares “My favorite little piece of the whole release is the sound of a snow plow going down my street, three stories below the bedroom where I wrote this album, during the biggest New England snowstorm of 2017.” As Abbott reveals, “That is the essence of Nightstand -- a time and place where I would dip inside from a busy cycle of touring and socializing, isolate myself, listen to the world outside my window, and stare a bit too long at my nightstand, wondering what it would say if it could speak.”

He released his debut album Learning in 2010 via long-time label home Matador, and it instantly caught the attention of critics. “The songs on Hadreas’ full-length debut are eviscerating and naked,” said Pitchfork, “with heartbreaking sentiments and bruised characterizations delivered in a voice that ranges from an ethereal croon to a slightly cracked warble.” These descriptors became the hallmarks of Perfume Genius - Hadreas’ unique ability to convey emotional vulnerability not only lyrically, but with his impressively nuanced vocals.
