All Them Witches Return With "Nothing as the Ideal" September 4th - "Saturnine & Iron Jaw" Premieres

ALL THEM WITCHES RETURN WITH NOTHING AS THE IDEAL  SEPTEMBER 4th, 2020 VIA NEW WEST RECORDS
CONSEQUENCE OF SOUND'S HEAVY CONSEQUENCE PREMIERES “SATURNINE & IRON JAW” TODAY
“World class heavy psych… Best classic rock of the future.” Rolling Stone

All Them Witches will return with Nothing as the Ideal on September 4th, 2020 via New West Records. The 8-song set was recorded at Abbey Road Studios in the legendary Studio Two (home to landmark recordings by The Beatles, Pink Floyd, and more). It was produced by the band and Mikey Allred (producer of their 2015 New West debut Dying Surfer Meets His Maker).
Nothing as the Ideal is the follow up to All Them Witches’ acclaimed 2018 ATW LP and last year’s standalone single “1X1.” Unremittingly forward-looking, the new album is their most experimental work to date. Tape loops coincide with unplugged minimalism. It’s their heaviest album marked by their broadest atmospheres, intimate and pummeling. Nothing as the Ideal is also their first full length album as a paired down trio, their smallest iteration as a band.
Today, Consequence of Sound's Heavy Consequence has premiered the album opener “Saturnine & Iron Jaw.” Regarding the song, guitarist Ben McLeod tells Consequence of Sound, "We very specifically wanted to lead with this track. I think it's the most well-rounded track on the record; it's constantly changing, it has a lot of different vibes to it." Giving a hint at what to expect with the rest of Nothing as the Ideal, he adds, "Obviously there are way heavier songs on the record," but "Saturnine & Iron Jaw" should let fans know All Them Witches are still very much rooted in psychedelic and bluesy rock. Hear the song HERE
Nothing as the Ideal might forever be known as “the album All Them Witches made at Abbey Road.” Fair enough. You don’t record in a legendary studio surrounded by mics The Beatles used, sitting on the bench where John Lennon tracked the acoustic guitar for “A Day In The Life” without acknowledging that history. There’s no getting away from it. Where the album triumphs, however, is in making that space and that history the band’s own. All Them Witches not only did justice to the moment they were capturing — the sheer adventure of being there, doing that thing — but answered the call of their inspiration as they always do. They succeeded in crafting a defining moment for who they are as a band, with each player’s personality coming together to create a fluidity that is unique unto them.
Nothing as the Ideal will be available across digital platforms, on compact disc, and standard black vinyl. A limited Clear Vinyl version will be available at Independent Retailers. An Opaque Green vinyl edition will be available via their US webstore while a Green, Olive, and Peach Tri-Color Vinyl Edition will be available on their European Webstore — both U.S. & Euro versions are limited to 500 copies a piece. A Deluxe Picture Disc Vinyl Edition with reversed cover artwork and a 24x36 Poster limited to 750 copies will also be available. All variants can be found for pre-order NOW via NEW WEST RECORDS
All Them Witches are Charles Michael Parks, Jr (vocals, bass), Ben McLeod (guitar) and Robby Staebler (drums).

THE EXPLOITED COVER MARKS THE BAY AREA BAND’S FIRST RECORDED MUSIC SINCE 1999

June 5, 2020 – MINNEAPOLIS – Mr. Bungle roar back with their first recorded music since 1999, releasing a blistering cover of The Exploited’s politically-charged anthem, “USA” (available now on all digital platforms via Ipecac Recordings: https://lnk.to/MBUSA).

The Bay Area band, whose current incarnation features original members Trevor Dunn, Mike Patton and Trey Spruance with Scott Ian (Anthrax, S.O.D) and Dave Lombardo (Dead Cross, ex-Slayer, Suicidal Tendencies), is donating 100% of the proceeds from both the song and a limited edition t-shirt to the MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund, through the 4th of July. The shirt, which will only be offered through Independent Day, is available exclusively via Mr. Bungle’s webstore (https://blixtmerchandise.shop/mr-bungle). MusiCares’ COVID-19 Relief Fund was created by The Recording Academy to help those within the music community who have been affected by the Coronavirus pandemic.

"Doesn't matter what part of the political spectrum you are on, everyone at some point has said 'F**k the USA.' The closest thing we have to a universal sentiment," says Spruance.

“This is a song that resonates and speaks to the country that Ipecac calls home,” adds Ipecac Recordings Co-owner Greg Werckman, who will also be donating the label’s proceeds from the single. “Over 100,000 US citizens are dead from the pandemic. At the same time protective masks have turned into a political football and no one has a grasp on testing. Racism continues to rear its ugly head. Police brutality spikes, unemployment spikes, depression spikes and ‘our’ ego driven elected officials don’t seem to care. We need to do a better job of looking out for each other. MusiCares looks after all of us in the music community.”

Mr. Bungle surprised fans last fall when they announced a trio of The Raging Wrath of The Easter Bunny performances for February of this year. The dates, which eventually grew to seven sold out performances across Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco, were the first time the Eureka, Calif.-born band had performed in nearly 20 years and the first time the outfit had played the songs on their self-produced 1986 demo in 30+ years.

Mr. Bungle recently wrapped up re-recording the originally cassette only eight-song demo, with Dunn telling Revolver: “The music from The Raging Wrath, which we wrote when we were 15 and 17 years old, continued to be relevant to us. But the original demo was never fully realized. It was a DIY four-track tape recording fully self-produced by our naive and wandering minds whilst still learning how to play our instruments and understand songwriting at its most basic level… for us, going back to the roots is totally exciting.” A release date has yet to be announced.

Paul Weller's forthcoming album 'On Sunset' rescheduled to release July 3rd. Includes new single "Village"

FORTHCOMING ALBUM, ON SUNSET RESCHEDULED TO RELEASE JULY 3
INCLUDES NEW SINGLE "VILLAGE"

PHYSICAL COPIES AVAILABLE JULY 31

Paul Weller has changed the release of his forthcoming new album, On Sunset, to July 3rd. As well as digitally, the album is released on CD, Deluxe CD (includes extra tracks), double gatefold vinyl, coloured vinyl and cassette on July 31st.

On Sunset includes the gorgeous new song "Village". "Village" is a dreamy and beautiful meditation sung from the decidedly un-rock'n'roll perspective of a man who is entirely happy with his state in life. "It's a response to being told that we've all got to explore the Amazon and climb Everest to make our lives complete," says Weller. "And there's a guy who says, fuck all that, I've got heaven around me."

"Village" was written by Weller and his long-time producer Jan 'Stan' Kybert. The track features Paul's old Style Council partner Mick Talbot on keyboards.

Paul began working on the forthcoming new album On Sunset very soon after finishing 2018's masterpiece "True Meanings". On Sunset features ten classic yet modern Paul Weller songs including masterly pop classics, heart-tugging ballads and occasional touches of experimentalism. It's an album that sees Weller taking a rare glance into the rear-view mirror as he speeds into the 2020s.

Written and recorded at Black Barn Studios in Surrey, On Sunset was produced by Jan "Stan" Kybert and Paul himself with help from Charles Rees. String arrangements by Hannah Peel.

We hope everyone this message reaches is healthy and staying safe. This probably comes as no surprise given the events of the past three months, but today we're writing to let you know that LEVITATION will not be happening in 2020.

The Covid-19 crisis has made it impossible to deliver the lineup and experience that we had planned for 2020. More than anything we wanted to find a way through this and have another weekend of great shows with you - but we'll have to wait until 2021 for that.

All ticket purchases have been refunded, and should process in the next 7-10 business days.

Look out for dates and details for LEVITATION 2021. Thank you for your support, we look forward to seeing you then!

With tours cancelled, our friends and label artists Holy Wave and Ringo Deathstarr have great new songs and no shows to play them at. So we're bringing their live shows to you with LEVITATION Sessions.

Ringo Deathstarr kicks it off with a full set from their practice space, mixed and edited by the band, with visuals from Astral Violet.

In addition to tickets to the show, we're offering up a download of the session, + limited edition cassettes and t-shirts with art by CMRTYZ. You can also grab a package that includes all that + a signed copy of their new LP!

Erasure Announce New Album "The Neon"; Listen To The Lead Track

ERASURE

ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM
THE NEON

OUT AUGUST 21

LISTEN TO “HEY NOW (THINK I GOT A FEELING)”
credit: Phil Sharp
ERASURE (Andy Bell and Vince Clarke) have announced details of their eighteenth studio album, The Neon, and share the album’s luminous opener, “Hey Now (Think I Got A Feeling)”. Listen here.

The 10-track album is out August 21 on Mute and will be released digitally and on standard and deluxe limited editions of vinyl, CD and cassette.

Pre-orders via Mute or the band’s shop will give priority ticket access to future tour dates. Pre-order The Neon here.

The Neon is a place that lives in the imagination. It could be a night club, a shop, a city, a cafe, a country, a bedroom, a restaurant, any place at all. It’s a place of possibility in warm, glowing light and this is music that takes you there.

Written and produced by Erasure, the album’s initial sessions saw Vince and Andy reunite to work on the follow up to 2017’s World Be Gone with a fresh optimism and energy, in part born from their own recent personal projects. Vince goes on to explain, “Our music is always a reflection of how we’re feeling. Andy was in a good place spiritually, and so was I – really good places in our minds. You can hear that.”

Taking inspiration from pop music through the decades, from bands Andy loved as a child through to the present day, he explains, “It was about refreshing my love – hopefully our love – of great pop. I want kids now to hear these songs! I wanted to recharge that feeling that pop can come from anyone.”

The album’s vocals were recorded in Atlanta, Georgia, with Vince joining Andy at the studio sessions, and the mixing was done by the band in London earlier this year. Photographs were shot at that time in the unique environs of Gods Own Junkyard, a gallery housing a huge collection of vintage neon. Andy enthuses, “I felt like it was being inside a virtual reality game. I loved that it felt like being in a different world. That’s what I want our new album to convey.”

The Neon offers us warmth and a brilliant brightness in our times. It connects us to our pasts and our futures as it glistens with hope. It creates beautiful places where our imaginations can roam, bringing us together, twinkling and beaming. The Neon transports us to a celebratory world, now and forever, illuminated and alive.

During these troubling times, I’m happy to be a New Yorker. Anyone that knows me, knows how much I love this city. For me, it’s like living in an amazing dream (although a bit of a nightmare at the moment), where ANYTHING is possible and the sense of community is strong. Over the last year or so, I’ve written A LOT of music and with the current situation, I have been inspired to write even more. I will be putting this music out in the near future and I plan on putting more of my focus towards this and other projects I have in the pipeline. It all starts today!

Written and recorded during isolation, “When Will I Hold You Again” is about what’s going down in all of our lives. Covid-19. This is for and about all the people around the world that can’t be with the ones they love, for the people that live by themselves, and most of all for the people of New York City.

On the song.
I asked my friend Kate Clover if she would like to sing on the track, as I felt it would help portray the sentiment better. As soon as I got her track I was stoked! She helped take it to the next level.

On the video:
My wife said “why don’t you get people to film themselves dancing in isolation and put together a video?” For me, being in isolation is not so bad, as I have a creative outlet. I liked the idea of being able to give others the chance to also do something creative and get the blood pumping, so I put word out that I needed dedicated groovers for a video and the response was great! Thank you to all the people that partook in it! Every one of the videos brought a smile to my face when watching them for the first time and wondering what to expect! Dion Lunadon / May 2020

“When Will I Hold You Again” is available for free on Dion's Bandcamp page, with a
ny donations split between Campaign Zero, who work towards ending police brutality in America, and City Harvest, who help feed New Yorkers in need of food. Dion will match the Bandcamp donations up to $1,000. It is also available for download and streaming on all other platforms.
