NEW YORK, NY (July 10, 2018) - Amidst a summer of touring across both North America and Europe, TALL HEIGHTS today announce the forthcoming release of their new album Pretty Colors For Your Actions this Fall via Sony Music Masterworks.  The album's debut will set into motion a huge fall for the group, who will celebrate the release with a string of headlining tour dates across North America.  The Pretty Colors For Your Actions Release Tour will kick off October 11th in Northampton, MA and continue throughout North America for over 35 dates before concluding with a hometown finale performance at Boston's Royale.
Tickets for the tour will be available to the general public beginning Friday, July 13th - for more information and all ticketing information please visit tallheights.com/tour/.

"There's something flesh and blood about Pretty Colors For Your Actions.  This album, more than anything we've made to date, really feels alive.  It's living, breathing music," says Tall Heights about their latest project.  "We've always been influenced by the electronic instrumentation of drum machines and synthesizers, but we approached this album with a renewed respect to the breadth of human performance. So you won't be surprised to learn that we're beyond pumped to finally share these songs live with our fans all over the world this fall."

The announcement arrives alongside a new visual for the group's latest release and the album's lead single, "The Deep End," which premiered on Culture Collide.  The vibrant visual finds the duo navigating the rollercoaster energy of a full-blown party and its aftermath, mirroring the emotions of the track itself, which the guys describe as, "sad and terrified, but still smiling lots and bumping to the beat."

Richard Swift 1977-2018

A number of questions have come up surrounding Swift’s life, his work and his death, and we’d like to answer some of them candidly, here:
Yes, Richard Swift suffered from alcohol addiction, and it’s ultimately what took his life. With the support of family and friends and the assistance of MusiCares, Richard had checked himself into rehab for multiple stays over the past two years, but his body gave out before he could overcome the disease. He was diagnosed with hepatitis and liver and kidney distress in June. Multiple hospitals worked to help stabilize him over the course of that month, but his body was unable to heal and, per his wishes and with his family’s consent, he was moved to hospice care. Richard passed in the early morning of July 3, 2018 in a hospice facility in Tacoma, WA. He is survived by his wife Shealynn and their three children Madison, Adrian & Kennedy.
Yes, Richard was working on new music, originally planned for release in November of this year.

PRAISE FOR CORNELIA MURR:

"Cornelia Murr's new album drifts through the room like a golden cloud, a subtle yet lush album, elegant and vibey... 'Man on My Mind' in particular has been filling the house with a bliss that only very few artists can conjure up!" - Devendra Banhart

"Downright exquisite. From the Beach House-esque melodrama of 'Tokyo Kyoto' to the 70's pop dreaminness of 'Who Am I To Tell You,' Murr's elegant voice towers high." - Paste

"A glorious, meditative debut LP. Murr's spectral soundscapes are chilling and otherworldly." - The Line of Best Fit
"Like a salve, like the meditation in the middle of the madness that, just maybe, will offer a sense of peace as the rest unfolds." - Stereogum

"Touches on cosmic soul and folk, bringing to mind the Omnichord expanses of Broadcast and Stereolab, but Murr stands alone as her own creation, her songs disarmingly open and artfully realized." - Aquarium Drunkard

Fresh Single From Ty Segall & White Fence!

BEHAVIORAL SCIENCE FROM THE SCHOOL OF "JOY"
With JoyTy Segall & White Fence's new collaborative set of songs accelerate wildly from where we last found them, sharing one debaucherousmind. Their hits are like mementos buried in the ground, crawling up from the earth with attractive deformity - an auditory return to Salem's Lot with fresh, mutated sounds bubbling from beneath the surface!

The new album drops July 20th and whatta Joy it is! Patience is a virtue, good things come to those who wait blah, blah, blah--- all that's totally overrated, and it's why the Presley/Segall hive-mind is dropping "Body Behavior"today, no waiting required! "Body Behavior" absolutely rips, a shock-and-aaahh-hell-yeah clocking in at just over two minutes! It's damn catchy, some of the purest post-punk-pop imaginable that only two of the most prolific living musicians can offer! Activating the undeniable chemistry you've come to love from Ty and Tim"Body Behavior" roughs up the edges with jagged results that hurt TOO good - but we know you can handle it!

Listen to "Body Behavior" now and hang on for the release of Joy, coming July 20th!

Throbbing Gristle Announce Collector's Editions; Listen to "Persuasion U.S.A."

THROBBING GRISTLE

ANNOUNCE NEW COLLECTOR’S EDITIONS OF JOURNEY THROUGH A BODYMISSION OF DEAD SOULS, AND HEATHEN EARTH

Throbbing Gristle announce the second phase of their ongoing reissues with Mute. September 14 will see remastered editions of Journey Through a Body (on silver vinyl and CD) and Mission of Dead Souls (on white vinyl and CD), while Heathen Earth will be re-released on blue vinyl and as a 2CD set.

Listen to “Persuasion U.S.A.” from Mission of Dead Souls here. Preorder the collector’s editions here.

The releases follow the 40th anniversary release of The Second Annual Report, as well as new editions of 20 Jazz Funk Greats and The Taste Of TG: A Beginner’s Guide to Throbbing Gristle – all out now and available here.

JOURNEY THROUGH A BODY (1982, Industrial Records), widely referred to as Throbbing Gristle’s most haunting work, was recorded as a piece of radio art for Italian National Radio RAI in Rome in March 1981. Following Robert Wyatt’s recommendation, RAI originally commissioned Cosey Fanni Tutti to create a sound work based on the theme of “A Journey Through the Body.” This went on to become a Throbbing Gristle project. First broadcast by the RAI, Journey Through a Body was the band’s final studio recording prior to 2004’s reactivation of the band.

Recorded in five days, a day per body section, the tracks were not pre-planned and nothing was re-recorded or added to after the track’s initial recording. Instead, each track was mixed immediately.“What’s most noticeable about the album, as a sonic experience is the openness to acoustic instrumentation on display,” says The Vinyl Factory. Journey Through a Body stands as a perfect testament to Throbbing Gristle’s artistic ethos. Unavailable on vinyl since 1983, Journey Through a Body will be released on silver vinyl with a foil-blocked cover featuring photos from the session. The album is also available on all digital platforms for the first time, and on CD after being long out of print.

MISSION OF DEAD SOULS (1981, Industrial Records) documents the final performance before Throbbing Gristle’s original disbanding (the band reactivated in 2004 before their final performance in 2010). Recorded at the Kezar Pavillion in San Francisco on May 29, 1981, the album “proves that TG’s assault never lacked talent or skill.” (AllMusic). The album has been unavailable on vinyl since the early 1990s, and is here presented on limited edition white vinyl, recreating the original sleeve with the addition of silver ink, with a new inner sleeve including photographs and a passage by Jon Savage.

A public statement by Throbbing Gristle stating “This Mission Is Terminated” was released followingMission of Dead Souls, and the legacy of the band began to solidify with its influence on generations of artists to come. The album is also available on all digital platforms for the first time, and on CD after being long out of print.

HEATHEN EARTH, originally released in 1980 (Industrial Records), is a live document of a performance by Throbbing Gristle to a small and invited audience on 16 February 1980. Described by The Quietus as “more cohesive and marshalled” than any of their other live recordings, the album is a testament to a band at the height of their creative powers, recorded just over a year before Throbbing Gristle disbanded and terminated the mission.

Heathen Earth will be released on 2CD and as a limited edition blue vinyl in a gatefold sleeve, echoing – for the first time since its original release – the first pressing of the album (the initial blue pressing was an edition of only 750 copies, before the album was repressed on black vinyl). The vinyl also contains an eight-page 12” booklet entitled “Industrial News” dedicated to the Heathen Earth and includes an unseen photographic print from the performance. The album comes with a digital copy of 11 bonus tracks, including live recordings from 1980 and 7” versions of “Subhuman” and “Adrenalin.”

Throbbing Gristle are Chris Carter, Peter “Sleazy” Christopherson (who sadly passed away on November 25, 2010), Cosey Fanni Tutti and Genesis Breyer P-Orridge. Their impact on music, culture and the arts is immeasurable and still felt today.
