"She would come in and describe some kind of crazy visual scene for me to soundtrack: 'I am picturing Jimi Hendrix solo-ing in a Roman Cathedral, light pouring through the stained glass, but he's in, like, a Hawaiian shirt.'

"I feed off that kind of crazy inspiration," Reed continues. "So I would build the track off her vision and by the time I was finished she would have the poetry to match. She's brilliant and a living legend to me." 

To date, "Now or Never" has amassed over 81 million Spotify streams and 22 million cumulative YouTube/VEVO views and just achieved an RIAA Gold certification. "Eyes Closed" followed, generating 9.2 million Spotify streams. Meanwhile, "Strangers (feat. “California Numb” combines the earth-shattering vocals and honest verses we’ve come to expect from the 21-year-old London-via-Melbourne singer/songwriter.  Today CLOVES releases the video for “California Numb.”

Directed by Phillip Lopez, the video for “California Numb” was shot on the streets of New York City.  Says CLOVES of the video, "The ‘Better Now’ video focused on representing the bittersweet dynamics of the record using light and space, so for California Numb I really wanted people to understand me more, feel the blunt frustration of ‘California Numb,’ by shooting a simple but bold and blunt video."

CLOVES is currently out on the road with Michael Kiwanuka on a sold out trek around North America (see remaining dates below).

The Growlers have announced the release of a new song, “Late Bloomers,” out this Friday, June 2. The song, originally a City Club outtake, was produced by Julian Casablancas and has recently made its way into the band’s current live set  (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N7-DN47JYd4). Along with the new song, The Growlers have announced a fall tour that features east and west coast residencies (three-show runs at The Independent, San Francisco and Brooklyn Bowl, Brooklyn).
