(September 16, 2026) - Following the announcement of their self-titled debut album arriving November 6th via Dirty Hit, Los Angeles’ untitled (halo) shares another offering off the project with “easy rider.” The mellow, rhythmic track is a tortured love song intertwined with gang vocals, baritone meditations and the smooth harmony of vocalist Ariana Mamnoon. Alongside the new song is a music video directed by untitled (halo) seeing the band perform in a vacant office space with strobing lights. Their debut album will also include the previously shared track “aimee lou wood freestyle,” which arrived with a self-directed video.
Speaking about the song Ariana describes “easy rider” as, “The closer for the record - where we feel the summation of all the previous tracks. A classic rock song, strong simple guitar, a jam at the end, a moment where the band sings together echoing lyrics.”
Born, in part, from a feeling that there was a “lack of a scene or music in LA,” longtime friends and band members Ariana Mamnoon, Jack Dione, Jay Are, and Nicholas Noneman had already spent years moving through LA’s DIY community, absorbing its overlapping histories before eventually finding one another. That shared history has become part of untitled (halo)’s identity, the culmination of years spent contributing to, and being shaped by, the scenes around them. Through their self-curated events, including their curation of a 40-person group art show, This Heaven Knows Bars with Obey, and their ongoing party series held in various local venues, they have created the spaces and music community they once yearned for.
Written over the course of a year in their Glassell Park studio, their debut album is about the act of construction: how memories are edited, identities are formed, and personal mythology is built from the pieces left behind. During this time, (halo) members were navigating their own heartbreak, tumultuous relationships, existential reckonings, and isolation. They were, in their words, “emotional people in need of sonic catharsis.” What began as a period of uncertainty became the impetus for making the record at all. The studio became an escape for Ari, Jack, Jay, and Nick, a place they could pour everything into sound. With each song, a page was marked, time was kept, and in some small way, they made sense of the nonsensical. But perhaps more importantly, the process was a reminder that we are truly in perpetual motion even when it feels like we have been circling the same questions since our youth.
The band has coined this subdued emotional current running beneath a place whose vastness promises exponential growth while quietly fostering emotional stasis: California Melancholia. In their self-titled debut album, the band transposes the trembling discontent and monotonous pain of existence into something tangible and cathartic. Here, endless beauty and synthetic abundance make longing feel as permanent as the sunshine itself. The band shares, “This underlying dread comes from taking note of all the artificiality around you, looking for the seams that make the city real, taking shape in the people you love and trust while the new becomes old and the old becomes new again in an endless cycle of manufacturing and optimizing. The music we make is a cry that becomes a screenshot, or a captured memory that we existed and felt real in the process of making it.”
You can hear each member working through these feelings across the record - the refusal to let go, the desire to understand, the realization that some things cannot be held onto forever.
untitled (halo) is currently on a run of headline shows in Europe, where they performed in Barcelona, Oslo, Frankfurt, and two dates in London so far with shows in Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam and more on the horizon. This November, untitled (halo) will embark on a headline North American run with shows in Philadelphia, Baltimore, New York City, and San Francisco before wrapping up with a hometown show in Los Angeles.
