PRAISE FOR GOOSEBERRY
"There’s a long tradition of guitar bands smirking through clenched teeth as the amps howl. Gooseberry follows precisely in that lineage with its lurching collision of alt-rock grit, indie looseness and bluesy back end. The Brooklyn act’s latest single, “Durak,” wastes no time announcing its punchy, satirical intent." -Magnet
"a sonic barrage of noise and focused fire that finds a spot between Nirvana, Queens of the Stone Age, and Black Sabbath; the lyrics and vocals are more tentative and ruminative. The energy is there, but the drive and desire are more considered now, as if seeking a rationale behind the need to rock and roll." -Analogue Trash
"On this song that is drawing comparisons to bands like Arctic Monkeys and The White Stripes, the Brooklyn-based band have made another song worthy of any playlist." -Chorus.fm
"The record once again finds them touching on an eclectic range of sounds, pulling from punk, ‘90s alt rock, prog rock, and confessional singer/songwriter fare." - Under The Radar
"Gooseberry is positioned to have a significant role in the modern rock scene, and “Dying To Meet You” showcases their vulnerable songwriting and effortless ability to pull from different sub-genres in rock to compile something irresistibly refreshing." -Glide Magazine
"they bring an eclectic blend of influences to their music, spanning from grunge to prog-rock, Beatles-inspired melodies, and even a bit of punk. Their wide-ranging sound, as Asa points out, makes them hard to pin down, but that’s exactly what makes them stand out." -The Concert Chronicles
"This EP is bold and beautiful, a true showcase of Gooseberry's talent. On full display is the band's wildly diverse and dynamic songwriting skills that transform this eclectic blend of music into a surprisingly cohesive and thoroughly enjoyable listen" - Ones to Watch
"Gooseberry’s latest offering is a striking mix of thought-provoking lyrics, heavy riffs, and playful visuals, positioning the band as one to watch in the evolving alt-rock scene." - Psychedelic Baby
"Brooklyn trio Gooseberry‘s debut album is shaping up to be a must-listen... they’ve shared an explosive new single that acts as an ideal introduction to their smoky, blues-tinted sound." - Backseat Mafia |

| Brooklyn-based trio Gooseberry channel alternative rock, indie, and blues into a sharp, swaggering sound that recently earned them a coveted spot in Guitar World's "15 Hotshot NYC Guitarists You Should Know." Joining indie standouts like Horsegirl and Geese on the list, the band continues to cement its place as one of New York City's most exciting rising acts. Following successful winter and spring tours, more than 80K+ monthly Spotify listeners, and major festival appearances, Gooseberry now enters a bold new chapter with the announcement of its sophomore LP, Simple Sucker, arriving September 25, 2026. Today, the band shares new single, "Fault Lines," and announces a fall European tour with dates across the UK, Germany, and Austria. A heavy-hitting, angst-fueled anthem steeped in classic rock, "Fault Lines" finds Gooseberry embracing one of the heaviest sounds in its catalog. "You know that meme where Squidward watches from his window as SpongeBob and Patrick have all kinds of fun? That's essentially what this song is about. It's about picking up your life and leaving a place you've known forever—say, New York City—and relocating 300-plus miles away to a city that couldn't feel more different," frontman Asa Daniels explains. "From afar, all you can do is rot away watching on social media as other bands play your favorite venues back home—shows you can't be at. In many ways, this song is about homesickness, but also about how isolation can completely distort your perspective. Musically, it's one of the heaviest songs in the Gooseberry catalog, and it owes a great debt to Soundgarden." Comprising of Asa Daniels (guitar, vocals), Evin Rossington (drums), and Will Hammond (bass), Gooseberry have become a staple of NYC's music scene, headlining iconic venues like Bowery Ballroom, and supporting notable touring acts such as Ringo Starr, BabyJake, and Tanner Usrey.
In their new era, Simple Sucker, Gooseberry explores what it means to be the perfect fool in today's world. As Daniels explains, "there are songs where we’re poking fun at people for being fools; fools in love; fools who think they can impart wisdom for change; fools ourselves, longing to return to days gone by."
Across the album, the band turns a wry, self-aware lens on bigotry, fear, arrogance, nostalgia, and obliviousness, pairing irony-laced, shout-along hooks with explosive guitars to highlight the absurdity—and humanity—of it all.
"Fault Lines" is out July 17th. Simple Sucker is out September 25th, 2026. |
