Los Angeles, CA – July 14, 2026 – Capitol Records announces the Capitol Record Club, a premium vinyl series dedicated to celebrating the artistry, history, and enduring cultural impact of some of the most essential and iconic albums in the label’s quintessential catalog.
Inspired by Capitol’s original Record Club, which introduced music fans to landmark albums throughout the late 1950s and ‘60s, the new Capitol Record Club carries that spirit forward with a modern approach, offering thoughtfully curated, newly packaged, individually numbered, limited-edition releases with no subscription required.
Designed to introduce a new generation of collectors and music fans to the timeless recordings that helped shape modern music, the series debuts with Sparklehorse’s acclaimed 1998 album Good Morning Spider, available exclusively through the Capitol Records Store as a deluxe edition of 3,000 individually numbered copies. To commemorate the inaugural release, Capitol Records Store is also offering an exclusive limited-edition Good Morning Spider T-shirt. Now available for pre-order, the album ships July 24.
Long regarded as one of alternative music’s defining artistic statements, Good Morning Spider returns in a newly mastered 2LP 45 RPM edition that allows the remarkable sonic detail of Mark Linkous’ haunting songwriting and inventive production to unfold with extraordinary depth and clarity. Mastered for vinyl by Levi Seitz at Black Belt Mastering, the release showcases beloved tracks including “Pig,” “Painbirds,” “Sick of Goodbyes,” “Sunshine,” and “Happy Man.”
Expanding the collection is an exclusive bonus 7-inch featuring Sparklehorse’s unforgettable interpretation of “Wish You Were Here,” featuring Thom Yorke, backed by the elusive non-album track “Haint,” making this the most comprehensive vinyl presentation of the album’s era to date.
Forthcoming titles in the Capitol Record Club include Butthole Surfers Electric Larryland 30th Anniversary in August, Crowded House Crowded House 40th Anniversary in September, and Digable Planets Blowout Combin in October.
